If you're on the east coast, and you're looking to fill some holes in your Beach Boys or Jan & Dean collection, this will be the place.  Rockaway Records will be setting up, along with a number of other record dealers.  I've got enough duplicates to fill up 2 tables myself; I bought a collection a few years ago and cherry-picked some stuff for my collection, but I still ended up with a  lot of dupe 45's and LPs.  Plus I've got a bunch of extra posters, sheet music, magazines, CDs, cassettes, etc.  I'll post some highlights over the next couple of weeks.

Oh, and we'll be blowing out a lot of back issues of ESQ for cheap -- I've got almost an entire offsite storage unit of back issues.

David, I had planned on attending this, but flying into Charlotte from Chicago is quite expensive for such a short weekend. Plus I'd have to rent a car to get to the event. Maybe next year, you could have it at Myrtle Beach, or another town that's easier to fly in and out of.

Hope all goes well at the convention and really wish I could be there, but due to finances this year, it's out of my league!!!!

I wish I could make it, too.  It sounds like it'll be lots of fun.  It's just not in the budget this year.

Would you by any chance happen to attend the UK STOMP as well?  Grin

If so I would jump on a plane to the UK right away! (too many goodies on your tabel to resist)

Check out the Beach Boys Starline website, the place for pictures of many countries Beach Boys releases on 45.

Listening to you I get the music; Gazing at you I get the heat; Following you I climb the mountain; I get excitement at your feet
Right behind you I see the millions; On you I see the glory; From you I get opinions; From you I get the story

I attended a Stomp Convention about 10 years ago, and I brought one box of stuff to sell.  Unfortunately between international baggage restrictions and duties and customs, it would probably cost more to bring 8 boxes of records over than I would make selling it...  Undecided

I'll have a lot of very rare J&D, Brian Wilson, Beach Boys, and Beatles stuff. It will be a great event for vinyl junkies…

Just kidding, I expected that. Just imagining what my first reaction would be if I stumbled upon a table like yours (kid-in-the-candystore glance)

Have a great week end all of you.

I shall be at the Big Shindig!
Lee & David ,with all your great fortunes ,I think you should be giving away all your treasures for free!
Think of how happy you would make all the BB fans in attendence!
You of course should wait until I rummage thru it all to get what I want
This is just an idea ,take it under consideration!
Thanks and Drive careful.

This coming from the man who had the Caribou "School Day" promo 45 -- and sold it to someone other than me!  It took me over 25 years to find that puppy...

Well, that's been the case for a long time now. Ha! . . . I'm thinking Mike & Bruce's band owe us big-time in terms of Jan & Dean additions to their set list  Smiley . . . (but give 'em credit, they do play a few).

Seriously, the sound was great. Just right for the venue. Dean's set got the place hopping.

Another cool touch was the local radio DJ as emcee . . . I mean, that gave it a kind of Dick Clark feel, in terms of voice, appearance, and delivery.

And I encourage all who haven't to see David Marks in concert. This was my first time seeing Dave, and I had an idea of what to expect from his various recordings and albums. But seeing it up close in person, with a live and fluid band, is a different deal altogether.

Incredible lead guitarist . . . blues oriented. Marks was the headliner, and it blew me out.

In addition to Jez Graham (amazing keyboard player) and the bass player (whose name escapes me), kudos to Dean's band members — David Logeman and Phil Bardowell — for filling out Marks's line-up. Bardowell is a cool lead guitarist in his own right. Logeman played for Frank Zappa . . . 'Nuff said.

Congratulations to Dave for pulling off such a great event.  I've become so jaded about the whole Beach Boys thing that I rarely listen to their music any more for anything more than short bursts, but I had a great time!  It was nice to see people I hadn't seen in a long time (Ray, Margaret), and great to meet new folks like Mark, Randy from Indianapolis, etc.

I sold a decent amount of stuff at the record show -- enough to turn around and buy a still-sealed Pet Sounds LP and a couple of other things from Rockaway's table, and still walk away with some cash in my pocket.  Rockaway had some great stuff -- I told Wayne Johnson that I wished I could have just loaded up my SUV with everything on his table, and handed him a blank check!   Smiley

It was too bad more people couldn't make it.   Perhaps "Endless Sky" could sell a DVD of highlights?...
