Bull session and the album version of Help Me Rhonda are kind of a given.  So after those two are done with, I'd go with Dance Dance Dance.  It's a pretty good song, but compared to everything else on the record it counts as the low for me.

Shoot me but I've always felt that "Bull Session" was the perfect way to end Today!. How can you follow something as extraordinary as "ITBOMM" with another song? But you can't end the album with it either. So what can you end it with? Something non-musical----"Bull Session", for instance. 

Why can't you end it with ITBOMM?

I would say, because the string fadeout is much too abrupt. It doesn't feel right as a closer----not to me anyway. If it were longer, then I concede that you could end the album with "ITBOMM".

I like to hear what Mike prefered on his burger back in 1965.

What about using 'Guess I'm Dumb' as album closer then?
Instead of giving it away to an aspiring session musician.

Bull Sessions with Big Daddy should go.  Putting it as the last track eliminates any intrusion on the album, but to think an actual song could have gone on its spot instead!

I agree. Not only that, but what I don't understand is why it's so underrated. I mean I love that track, it the second-best off this album. But at the same time, it's obscure and forgotten

No, it won't. For one thing, there's been more than 10 deserving, non-steroid contenders on the ballot in recent years and you can only vote for 10. So people might purposely leave off names like Rivera in order to help the candidacies of others they feel should be in.

Then there's the fact that there's hundreds of voters and some of them are old enough to forget to check a box when there's some 30 names or whatever on the ballot.

Then there's idiots that like to whine and punish players for whatever reason they can think of...

...then there's the old ones that simply don't want to vote for modern players because they hate the idea of sharing the limelight.

easy to vote against Bull Sessions - this is not even the funniest part of the whole.

NOW (IMO) we start on the TOUGHEST LP next to Pet Zounds cuz all the tracks are good, many Great.

Even by Beach Boys standards....some of the lyrics are pervy-cringy. Besides, if they hadn't shelved it, we might not have Marcella....

I see "Bull Session" as little different from the chat during the instrumental break in "Barbara Ann" or the middle section of the Smiley Smile version of "Wonderful". It's just that it takes up a whole track.

I still think it fits, in the same way that "Our Favorite Recording Sessions" fits----Brian's forgotten note on the piano is the first tone heard in the following song, "Don't Back Down". I'm still out on Cassius whatever. Although it did give fans a chance to hear the speaking voices of Al, Mike and Brian...

Don't Hurt My Little Sister.  I actually don't hate it as much as some people on this board seem to, I like that it's a little bit of a story song which is unusual for the Beach Boys and I like Brian and Mike on vocals.  But it's definitely the weakest song on the album.

I'm afraid I won't be voting as I'm quite happy with the way this album (any album in fact) was put together originally. Enjoyed reading the feedback here all the same. :=)

I love it. I think it brilliant how time seems to move slow until the subject turns 22... Then time just clicks by and before you know it were are into the 30's.

On it's own a decent track, but nothing special.

"Do You Wanna Dance" has my vote!

Someone tell me what's so special about that song? I don't think it has near the charm of "When I Grow Up" or "I'm So Young"...

Ronnie's voice is more forceful and makes it a more emotional track...but what really sells it is Hal's fucking crazy ass drumming at the end of it. Gives the song a nice sonic wallop to close out.

I don't know about that, but something that does annoy me... On the out-takes, you hear that Brian does this amazing falsetto part on the chorus, it's utterly tremendous - but on the released version you can barely hear it, not unless you really, really make an effort to listen out for it. It's totally buried in the mix, and it shouldn't have been.

Don't know but agree the sonics aren't great. It sounds like it was recorded via a tin bucket.

Stereo remix not much better so will assume a prob during the actual recording. IMO.

Bitchin' track, tho - should see it's way safely through a many more rounds

It fills me with exultation, it makes me run on to the dancefloor and sing along. It starts well, gets better with the guitar solo, and finishes with a THUNDERING CLIMAX! The drums are astonishing, as are the backing vocals. Dennis's rough lead voacls make a nice change from Brian and Mike. It's one of my very favourites.

I'm going to vote for "Don't hurt my little sister".

Two tracks in, a novelty track and an inferior version, and this is already ridiculously hard. :(

This has just gotten much more difficult.  I will go with "In the Back of My Mind," which is a great BW production, but the songwriting pales in comparison to the other ballads on side 2.  The lead vocal from Dennis is also probably the weakest lead vocal on the album.

its a beautiful chorus, but the verses are painful both lyrically and musically.

This is tough. Kiss Me Baby, PLMW and WIGUTBAM are stone classics so it comes down to Mind and SKMTW. The chorus to the latter feels effortless. The production and melody of ITBOMM are certainly beautiful and I love it but the melody feels a little more forced than the others.

Yeah She Knows Me Too Well definitely has the weakest lyrics of the remaining stuff. They are really teenybopper.

I love She Knows Me... It's my favourite on the album and I really like the lyrics, I think they're very honest and accurate ("...and then I'm not happy 'til I make her break down and cry" - this is like a Lennon lyric).

My vote goes to Kiss Me Baby - while I don't deny it's a masterpiece and an incredible piece of work (I suspect it's going to win in fact), I've got to say that one bit always really irritates me: when Brian sings 'I' and goes 'wwwwwwwwwwwwyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy-I remember...')
