Does anyone know what will be happening this year in terms of touring?

I heard Brian will likely be touring again in spring or summer, and may "get to the other side of the pond" to Britain.
And I think its safe to assume M&B will go on as usual.

No matter what, if BW is in the US, I will get to a show...

Is there any insider information out there, such as (for example) Blondie to be touring with BW full time?

Jeez, and that's probably just an outline of the year...more dates to come.

Last year they played at the Hong Kong Rugby 7s around the same time they will be in Asia this year. Hopefully they'll come back around  Grin

Having just updated the touring years 2001-2014, with Ian's invaluable help, I can safely say that there's a semi-set pattern to Mike & Bruce's touring. Not exactly "if it's Tuesday it must be Belgium", but at certain times of year they're likely to be in a certain part of the US (e.g. Florida in January). Nothing new: The Beach Boys pre-1998 were much the same (e.g. they tended to play Vegas, or Pine Knob, at pretty much the same time each year).

Not exactly a tour but nevertheless:

On a somewhat related note: Lynch is preparing the production of new Twin Peaks material. Smokin (Not much more is known as of yet.)

Hoping M&B add an indoor show this London visit.  Not too interested about seeing them at Hampton Court.

Especially not at the prices quoted...would love to see them do a more extensive UK tour as they did in 2004 and 2008 !
Would also be nice to see Brian and his band (with Al and David if possible) do a big UK tour...

Odd that REO Speedwagon and Foreigner charge more than  the BBs?
Their shoow is part of Oktoberfest, so maybe they'll perform Ganz Allein?

REO Speedwagon...I spoke to someone who saw them recently, and it really didn't surprise me to hear that they weren't very good. Funny that they're charging high ish prices for their tickets.

(quote)

See Al's Band if you can. I've only seen them once, in 2011, and they are basically the BB backing band from the 60's and 70's. It is a great opportunity to enjoy their musicianship.  Actually an advantage of no more C50.  You'd never get to see these guys together.  They did "Don't Fight the Sea" and some of Al's "Postcard,"which I love.

And, he usually has his sons Adam and Matt, fine singers in their own right, and Billy Hinsche, Ed Carter, Bobby Figueroa and Richie Cannata.  I'm sure I forgot someone!  (Sorry, if I did!)

Check to see who is with the lineup, but don't miss this, if you're in the area.

Ditto. The Derry show is only £20 yet with travel would end up costing more or less the same from where I live. If no other dates are added (let's not forget that the Hyde Park gig was added pretty late) then I'll probably be hopping on a ferry (anything to avoid going to London for yet another gig). I still can't believe both gigs have been announced for about 3 weeks and this is the first I've heard of them. I'm slacking.

Also, new Twin Peaks material!?! Holy cow I hope my "I'll see you again in 20 years" theory becomes a reality.

Didn't she say "25 years"? Because... that would be 2014, I guess. 3D

That's what I meant, damn, can't believe I did that. Yeah my theory was that there'd be a follow-up 25 years later in real-time, thus bringing us to sometime within the 2014-2017 timeframe depending on whether you treat it as 25 years from the film or the film's setting (as before the TV series). Anyway, not to derail the thread further Smiley

Yeah....M&B are almost repeating 2013 in terms of touring...same parts of the world at the same time of year. It makes sense...makes it easier to plan when you may be seeing them too.

I haven't heard or seen anything about Brian in the new year. Last year during the fall tour, I remember Al saying that they hoped the new album would be out and there would be a US spring tour to support it...but I really don't see that happening.

What makes you think that's unlikely to happen? It seemed like at one stage last year that the album might make it out in 2013. That didn't happen (according to Beck because touring threw of the recording schedule), but it seems relatively likely that Brian's album would be out sometime in 2014. Touring behind it seems relatively likely given previous patterns. I think the big question might be how likely Al and Dave will be involved if a Brian tour happens.

I would imagine they would join in. It makes even more sense for them to be on a tour to support the album considering they are both on the album. Al apparently has one if not multiple leads.

The only part of that I found unlikely is a SPRING tour.

I don't think things will be done by then. There have been absolutely no indications whatsoever that work is continuing on Brian's album. I'm certain it will be released in 2014 and I'm certain there will be a tour behind it...HOPEFULLY with Al & David...HOPEFULLY in the US AND the rest of the world! LOL

I hope M&B add an indoor show too-the Hammersmith Apollo show was outstanding

As someone pointed out in another thread, the break between Hampton Ct and Derry could include an afternoon slot at Glastonbury but that would be top top secret and Al's not in the band!

Re: BW-looking at the Bellagio site, the general trend seems to be outdoor, GH shows in the Summer and album tours in Jan/Feb and September.
If the album comes out in spring, maybe we're looking at a September tour
Then again, he toured TLOS before it came out and Gershwin several months after release, so who knows

Brian's profile will also be raised with the movie. If its good, I expect some kind of tour which will also support the album.

If the movie stinks and the album is a dud....eehhhh, maybe a year with his feet up is not so bad. Grin

Al's upcoming show show isn't going to feature the '70s/'80s backline guys.
It's gonna be something a bit different.

That's actually pretty cool. Wouldn't mind seeing a well-produced(as ACL always is) pro-shot Mike and Bruce show. Hopefully a rarity or two will surface from this.
