I'm certainly willing to hop over the hill from the valley. I don't know how we're gonna hang out in Laurel Canyon SMiLE-style, as it's all super-rich folks now!

The voices in MY head said the same thing -- and in perfect five-part harmony. Maybe they're onto something!

The reason that not much is being said is because those involved in the project (artwork, liner notes, etc) are limited to what they can say because of contract.  Everything has to be run past the publicist, who has to run it past the powers that be, etc.

Someone on the Hoffman board saw this comment on Peter Lacey's Facebook page...

A buddy of mine is in on the SMiLE project and the artwork has been green-lighted. They are using the original storefront artwork by Frank Holmes but it will be in 3-D as though looking into the front of the store. Several versions will be available up to and including an 'ultimate' box set and LP versions, too.

Don't know, but the Smile cubes, spheres and pyramids in the front display, as well as the doorway and curtains all could be done is some sort of 3d effect, I suppose.

Maybe embossed would be my guess.  If it's correct.
