The Beach Boys: Smile--A Stereo Reconstruction by Purple Chick

Has anyone heard this mix? I'm not a SMiLE nut in the least, this is the first mix I've ever gotten. (I own BWPS)
The concept is rather simple:
It's the BWPS arrangement, but with the original '66/'67 recordings.

I've heard this is somewhat popular, and I'm quite blown away by it. Anyone have anything they want to say about this mix?

It's nice, but it's flawed, especially the bad slow-down effects (the end of "Look" suffers considerably).
But if anything, it showed how complete "Smile" actually was, and if Brian could've gotten his act together, it could've been finished.

The Purple Chick version has way too many "glitchy" edits - I prefer my own stereo remix version.

I think it's pretty good, but the Mok SMiLE is still my favourite.
Oh, by the way... Just listening to Mickboy's SMiLE mix. It's horrible! Stay away, folks.

"Fast Eddie's" reconstruction is still my favorite of the 21st century 'sequence' mixes. He uses all original sound , mainly from the 66-67 sessions, with a brief lean toward 68 and 69, but not enough to distract. It a VERY close idea of what the Smile album would have sounded like in 67 with the current song tracking. Scope it out and take a listen, if you can ..

The Anne Wallace version of "Surf's Up" remains the highwater mark. PurpleChick did NOT improve on it.

When I first heard's the Purple Chick Surf's Up Mix, those "Bygone, Bygones" scared the crap out of me. Totally out of place IMO.
Still one of my favorite mixes though.
