According to this they do "Cool Cool Water". If true it must have sounded odd.

Wow. Looks like Brian was there too. Would love to hear a tape of that!

I can imagine it being very off-key if this was done in 1977 during the Aussie tour when Brian didn't give a sh*t, both his brothers were drunk (and /or drugged) and Mike and Al were both shining lights of good living preaching the gospel of TM. What an interesting bunch of people.

I attended both Sydney shows in 78 and CCW was not performed. There were two shows in Sydney, one on the Saturday the other on Sunday. The show listed on Eric's site is the Sunday show and it was not "reportedly raining" is was pissing down in biblical proportions.

Thanks Tony, I thought that looked quite wrong as they hadn't done it in years.

It was California, not Cool Cool Water. The audience tapes back this up.

Interestingly, John Tobler made the same error in his book "The Beach Boys" in his list of some of the songs the band performed at Wembley in 1975.

I confirm that earlier in the tour (in Auckland and Christchurch) California Saga California was performed not Cool Cool Water. On both occasions Mike introduced the song as being written in Old Zealand.
