Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Does this bootleg actually exist?

The book "Hot Wacks" (a long out of print guide to bootlegs of hundreds of artists) has the following strange entry under 'The Beach Boys':
SMILE Brother Records ST-258D
Side 1: Good Vibrations / Barnyard / Do You Like Worms / Old Master Painter-You Are My Sunshine / Wonderful / Bicycle Rider / Can't Wait Too Long / Tones / Cabin Essence / Our Prayer
Side 2: George Fell Into His French Horn / Heroes And Villains / Vega Tables / Wind Chimes / Mrs. O'Leary's Cow / I Love To Say Da Da / Holidays / Surf's Up / Child Is Father To The Man
Also, the album is described as being a "fake Capitol promo". However, I can't find ANY other proof outside of this book that the album is real. Does anyone know?

I didn't know about the Deadman's Curve soundtrack, so if anyone could supply information, as in dates and tracklists...
However, I do actually have Bruce's album with the Vettes in my discography (the download post for which is a couple pages back, although that version's a little out of date). As for David's "Work Tapes", I've never heard of that one... although, if it's like "The Lost Years" (i.e., a Beatles Anthology-type compilation of outtakes and demos), it doesn't really have a spot in the discography.

Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / What if "Smile" had failed?

I'm curious to see what you all think would have happened if these two scenarios occurred....
1) After the relative failure of "Pet Sounds", Brian still manages to press on and complete "Smile." It's released in January 1967, and despite good reviews, is a flop. It doesn't sell very many copies, and only hits a very low chart position because people were just plain confused and bewildered by it. What would have happened to both Brian and the Beach Boys?
Or...
2) "Smile" doesn't come out in 1967, and in 2004, Brian announces that he's going to complete it and perform it live. He's worried that the audience won't like it... and they don't. The audience reaction is general bewilderment and confusion at the strange lyrics, and the "Smile" tour doesn't happen, nor does the studio recording. What do you think would've happened to Brian??
I'm not sure about the outcome of #1, but I think if the 2004 "Smile" had failed, that probably would've been the end of Brian. (Of course, I'm sure that there was an EXTREMELY small chance of that happening... I think if "Smile" turned out to be 90 minutes of farts, the audience would've loved it!)

Ahh, so they called him "The Wood" for a reason! Shame, I thought Weird Al invented the fade-out gag. (Every now and then, Al slips something naughty at the very end of a fade - there's "oh sh*t" in Dead Car Battery Blues, "you're just a pain in the ass" in Phony Calls, and "you cheap bastard" in Don't Download This Song.)

Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / A couple more tracklists needed...

I have just a couple gaps in my discography that need to be filled - I can't locate tracklists for David Marks' "The Lost Years" (which I've decided to include since it's all unique material) and Blondie Chaplin's "Ostrich Man". If anyone could supply these, many thanks.
Also, I'm unsure about "Without Earth" and "The Moon" - I found the tracklist for the 2fer, but I can't tell where one album ends and the other begins. What's the last song on "Without Earth"?

"The Complete Guide to the Music of..." notes under the entry for I Was Made To Love Her that, 'contrary to a popular BB myth, the phrase 'son of a bitch' is not sung.' But.... there's nothing in that song that sounds remotely like 'son of a bitch'... unless I missed something?
Speaking of Wild Honey, how'd the Beach Boys' quality control slip enough to let a badly glitched recording of "Country Air" slip through??
