It's paradise when I
Put up my antenna

none of those words are that unusual in a pop song.

The words themselves aren't unusual, but I thought that putting them together for the rhyme was a bit unusual.

I still to this day don't know what exactly "Cabin/Essence" means. It's the most unusual song title for me.

you can have the essence of anything. The thing that makes it what it is. The essential properties. The Platonic ideal.

Thanks. I'll take it for note. But it's still unique title, coz we don't use "cabin" now to mean "house".

Could be like a remote house in the woods? It would not be in a city. Built with rough-hewn logs, perhaps?

Essence could also be analogous to "ambience."

"ozone layer"
"pudgy" (find me another band, famous or otherwise, that has this in a lyric) EDIT: I guess Weird Al does Smiley
"doughy"
"greenhouse effect"
"ffft" (unsure how to spell the cigarette butt sound)
"athletes"
"suffocated"
"patchwork"
"elderly"

gotta love this wacky band.

In total honesty, the word "pudgy" appears in the Frank Zappa song "The Illinois Enema Bandit", already mentioned twice in this thread.  Honestly, it's like some of you don't know it or something.

Well I'll be hog-swaggled!
I did not realize that (Rob Lowe's Wayne's World voice).
I'm very unfamiliar with Zappa; interesting to learn this stuff...

Nepenthe

not on any official BBs records it's not Smiley

The OP didn't say "official." It's in an alternate version that has circulated for decades.

Somebody needs to write one new Beach Boy song with all of those above lyrics in it! "After eating chili dogs with a fork on a seat, I took the jeweled scepter and wished myself a plate of scorched meat"... etc etc
