having Side B as Side 4 then I have to pull out the second disc to hear Sides 2 and 3 only to pull out the first vinyl again to hear side 4? I noticed that "Endless Summer" is like that, as well as others from various artists, and I can't seem to understand why..

Didn't it have something to do with automatic record changer turntables? The idea being that the records were stacked and you could then listen Sides 1 and 2 in succession and then sides 3 and 4?

I didn't think about that...that sounds like a plausible explanation..

That's it - mom used to do that. Sheesh, I can't remember when I last had an automatic record changer.

I was curious as to how they arranged the sides of the Woodstock treble album:

"On the LP release, side one was backed with side six, side two was backed with side five, and side three was backed with side four. This was common on multi-LP sets of the time, to accommodate the popular record changer turntables."

Ah yes, I remember those record changers back in the 70s!  With all the vinyl nostalgia going on right now I'm surprised they haven't made a big comeback!   LOL

Yes! Sometimes more than one would come crashing down. And if one was just the tiniest bit warped,  the whole exercise became pointless.

I must admit to only ever playing 45s this way. LPs seemed like taking it a step too far----something to do with the price, I suspect. Cool Guy
