Hi. A little known piece of Beach Boys trivia is that our very own Mike Love helped Paul McCartney right the lyrics to Back In The USSR. Apparently, Paul was descending the stairs in India, singing BITUSSR, when Mike hit upon the bright idea of mentioning girls from different areas of Russia, in a sort of California Girls pastiche. Pretty cool, huh?

Anyhow, I wondered what other White Album period songs you feel would have benefited from Mike's positive outlook and uncanny ear for a hook.

I used to subscribe to the idea that it would have been a killer single album, but I've tried, and like most Beatles albums I can get to a side and one track before running out of good stuff. It's embarrassing.

Abbey Road is worse. Compare either of them to an album like Scott 4 or five leaves later or blue afternoon or 'birthday' by the association, or any goshdarn Cowills record, or the Peppermint Trolley Company on Atca or Millenium or Sagittarius and there's simply no comparison. None of those acts ever pissed in their audiences ears with 'maxwells fucking hammer' or 'obladioblada'
