Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Mark Linett/Alan Boyd Followup Interview with Icon Fetch

The final segment of the Smile Sessions followup interview with co-producers Mark Linett & Alan Boyd is up at iconfetch.com. http://bit.ly/ugN6xD They discuss why there wasn't a sessionography for disc one of the box, why they chose to leave Carl Wilson's vocal in "Surf's Up," if they used all the known segments of "Heroes and Villains," and what's next in the Beach Boys reissue program. Alan also gives a shout out to the message board! In addition, there's bonus material for Icon Fetch registered users where Mark discusses the upcoming Mobile Fidelity SACD of the stereo mix of Pet Sounds. Enjoy, Tony

Part one of my SMiLE followup audio interview with co-producers Mark Linett & Alan Boyd has just been posted: http://bit.ly/tPLJBuIn it, they talk about many of the questions that have been circulating around the 'net - including addressing the missing background vocals on "Barnyard," what, if any, tracks Brian nixed on the new set, how they assembled part two of "Heroes and Villains," and why there will never be a true stereo mix of "Good Vibrations." Part two will be posted in a week. Also, we're giving away a copy of the 2-CD version of the SMiLE Sessions" - just "like" Icon Fetch on FB. Enjoy, Tony

The interview I did with Jon about his Beach Boys FAQ book is now posted on our site. The shortened link is: http://bit.ly/tqWKzc There's also some "bonus" content available only to Icon Fetch users - Jon talks about which BB album is his favorite. Registering is free and takes about 30 seconds. Don't forget, once you get Smile -- you can leave questions on our site for co-producers Mark Linett and Alan Boyd to answer. They'll be back on the show in a week or so. Enjoy! Tony Icon Fetch www.iconfetch.com

Smiley Smile Stuff / Welcome to the Smiley Smile board / Hello!

Hi everyone.
Been a life-long Beach Boys' fan. My mom saw them in Cincinnati back in '64 (?), so she got me hooked basically from birth. Favorite songs are probably "Please Let Me Wonder" and "Sail on Sailor." I can't wait to get my hands on the new SMiLE box set!
I'm also a former radio guy who's taken to the Internet. I run a site called Icon Fetch (iconfetch.com) that produces music interviews and CD reviews. Currently, I have a preview of an interview I did with Beach Boys' engineer Mark Linett. I will post that in the proper place.
Tony
