Looks good, Chuck. Am I missing it, or is there no PM function here?

As nearly as I can tell, there has been some weird thing going around affecting phpbb boards involving cookies.  That's why I wasn't able to access the administration area, and that's why people couldn't log in or stay logged in.  I think that's why people were seeing redirects, too.

I tried making a new phpbb here on this web host, and within hours the same thing happened here.

PHP is a right pig to work with. Yet somehow it seems to be one of the internet standards for message boards.

Thanks so much Charles, for setting up this board for us.  I really appreciate the swift action you took to save the board by moving it to this new location.. especially at Christmas time... no doubt a very busy time of the year for you, as with all of us.  Thanks again, you rock!

You mean we gotta get our post counts back? Shame on the ass who hacked the original SSMB.

And posts to the Sandbox don't seem to add in the count either.

So what is the next step beyond "newbie"?  Seems strange to be labelled that again.  I remember the days of "Vegatables" and "Surf's Up" once upon a time....

I really like this new board. It´s quite fast and has a lot of functions. But I hope that this will stay for a while, the history of all the SMiLE-boards gets more confusing than the history of SMiLE itself.

Why when it asks you to login- if you select FOREVER you still need to log back in the next time?

Forever... that's your way of giving a nod to the Beach Boys, right Chuck? Yer so clever.  ;) Crazygonuts!

In the old Smile Shop we use to have names of Smile songs like Gee or something like that. I remember being happy getting to gee and then we had our board washdown and then they left. It would be totally awesome to have that back once you reach a particular # of posts.

One thing I just LOVE about this new site, is that you can make the fonts bigger using your Windows "View - Text Size" settings.  I sit far away from the monitor with a cordless keyboard and mouse, and this is so much easier on my eyes.

Charles, please check your email. I've sent you a screenshot of the problem. I'm on a Mac running OS 8.6.  I've tried three different browsers, two of which (IE 5.2 and iCab 3.0) work properly with this site. Both of those have the aforementioned scroll bars. I've tried changing all the settings I can find, with no luck.

Also, can you add the South Park Boys to the alternate board themes? They disappear when I log in. Thanks!

I received your email, but I'm not sure what to say.   I don't know if the problem is that you are viewing this on a 13 inch monitor, a mac, or something else.  Which theme are you using?

640 x 480 fixed -- can't go any larger.

If I set my kid's computer to 640 x 480, I get a scrollbar too.

Only way at that resolution to get rid of the scrollbar is to make the text so small you can't read it.

It's censoring any word that contains the letters b i and h, probably because it's trying to censor the word Bitc*. Which is a pretty silly word to censor, cause no one says it in an offensive context here.

Suggestion for the site:

It would be interesting and very helpful if we could have a section of the site devoted to the actual music (Chords, Tabs, Notation, etc) much like the .pdf file of the music thread for BWPS. We could make sure that each song is completed fully and correctly quite easily being that there are countless musicians on board who i'm sure are willing to test out our interpretations of the music.

I do remember it was one of the first things that I looked for upon coming to this site a year ago. And while other sites offer a vast amount of interpretations of the songs, they do not contain *all* songs which is something we might strive for if everybody is okay with the idea.

Good suggestion. I can be a "tester" for any piano music. However, you'd have to ket any guitarists here do the tabs and check them out, because I'm a moron when it comes to guitar stuff; I'm a piano guy.

I think its a great idea to put up music for rareities or music that hasnt been released through song books. I dont think we should be posting tabs/sheet music fof BWPS because they just came out with a Piano, Guitar, Vocal book...and Im pretty sure hte publishers woulkdnt like that :P

How about a section for saved threads?

My intention is 1) threads won't be deleted unless they become issues due to behavior or content, so the threads will be here to read for a LONG time, and 2) the best threads will become content for the main site.
