Brian at the West Virginia show (after the Salt Lake City fade): "And Salt Lake City is gone, just like that, GONE! Even though there's no more Salt Lake City, there's always a CUSTOM MACHINE!!"

The album really only featured to songs that fit Dennis' singing-style imo (the other one being "Girl don't tell me")

Yeah, I can TOTALLY picture Denny singin' GDTM.

For the LONGEST time I was convinced Denny sung "Girl Don't Tell Me". How wrong I was.... LOL

Yes, I agree claymcc!! At the West Virginia show he also played piano on Custom Machine, Roll Around Heaven, and the ones you mentioned as well. I think maybe even Shut Down.
131  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Bad Review of Brian Show on: November 02, 2009, 02:03:53 PM
I was at the show last night. It was fantastic, all the way around. Brian was in terrific form, chatting with the audience and playing more piano (like at previous shows this week from what I hear). Brian and the band delivered more than just the hits. It was unbelievable!!!

How was the attendance, she described it as empty.

It wasn't sold out, nor was it empty. It was full until you got to the back of the theater. I didn't really pay much attention, I was just so happy to be there. But it wasn't empty. Some others here who went could probably clarify.

Maybe ask him about his upcoming projects with Disney. If he has songs selected for his Disney covers album, or what Gershwin tunes he'll be doing.

If Brian does Hakuna Matata he HAS to do it with Michael. That's the only way the song will work! Smiley

 LOL

And...what was the song that Ratigan sang in The Great Mouse Detective? That would KILL with Brian's current voice. Vincent Price would be proud. Smiley

The Oogie Boogie Man? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1eOqNmrFXmY
haha

@DSamore: "Aaaare ya ackin' (yep yep yep) foooor some bacon? (yep yep yep)"
That would be classic  Cheesy

I agree with the Bear Necessities. Maybe even "I Wanna Be Like You". Or how about "That's What Friends Are For" duet with Paul McCartney since that song has Beatles influence with the vultrues.

When You Wish Upon A Star (of course)
The Monkey's Uncle - with Taylor on lead
Cruella Devil

Surfer Joe: Oh yeah! That's been on of my favorites as well. I've always loved that guitar intro, & Jan's vocal on that is great

That's exciting to hear about Carnival of Sound!!

I just have to figure out what tune to do, or an instrumental medley, & I'm up for this.
148  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Are any of you musicians? on: August 13, 2009, 07:26:45 PM
I'd be interested in this, wouldn't mind collaborating instrumentally, I could handle a backing harmony. I can assist with any sax parts. Well, on tenor anyway - I don't have a bari. I also know some Beach Boys tunes on bass & piano as well.
149  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Rock Band on: July 18, 2009, 08:43:05 PM
I always though "Marcella" would be great on rock band. Especially the "In Concert" version. That would be a perfect fit I believe  Smiley

Yeah, Tim Meadows face is priceless in that scene - haha I also love where the original members of Dewey's group are waiting for their cue, take
a breath, "Black sheep, OOOOOOO"

"I think that goat's been singing on this song more than I have!"

The Beatles scene is ridiculous, but so hilarious. Jack Black as Paul McCartney? classic!
