Wouldn't it be cool if The Flame were the opening act for the BB on next year's world tour?

99.9% doubtful it would happen, but if it did that would be the cherry on the cake.

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

This is very exciting. Perhaps this is the first step in creating a buzz that will result in their (according to Steve Desper) superior 2nd '70s album finally being given the O.K. for release. Doubtful.... Sad

I found the Flame's Brother Records LP in a Louisiana junk shop for $1. It still had the quadrophonic insert.

It's an alright album. Better than Hold On Dear Brother and Leaving This Town, but not as good as We Got Love.

Blondie says the show will consist of an hour-plus set from him, Ricky and Steve Fataar -- with a local bass player rounding out the lineup.

Don't think Blondie will ever blow me away more than he did with this band   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7e0TswzKGq4&feature=related  and I feel so f*cking lucky to have memories of them doing these late late sets at dives like Mdm. Wong's in both Santa Monica & Chinatown, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esther_Wong  and various other crazy music/alcohol/sex&drug dens in Venice & West L.A. that sadly are no more...  Or maybe not - maybe that has something to do with why I'm still alive & kickin'!

Here's a FANTASTIC performance from last year with Blondie on piano and Ron Blair of Tom Petty's Heartbreakers on bass:

I agree Ed, that was quite a band!  The recordings from the Woodstock Reunion Concert were really nice:

Love to hear "Sail On Sailor" with that blusey intro, & harp coda.  I got to see a similar lineup (no Butterfield, but with Richard Manuel on keys) about a year later at a free outdoor show in New Jersey.  Took a lot of black & white photos of Danko & Blondie.  I'll have to dig them up one day.
