In a noble, almost selfless effort to stop polluting the youtube thread with all of this gibberish, and because the damn thing is so vast and unwieldy that perhaps a nice straightforward list is in order... I give you, in one easily-ignored thread for those prone to headaches and epileptic fits from this sort of thing:

           ENDLESS SYNCOPATION:
The Rising Fall of The Beach Boys and The California Myth

"Appropriators claim the right to create with mirrors."
   - Negativland

"Cut into the present and the future leaks out."
   - William S. Burroughs

A semi-psychedelic slice n' dice found footage feature about The Troubled Mozart of Modern Music -- Finnegans Wake through the eyes of Brian Wilson -- damaged Adult/Child studio mystic, the saga of his dysfunctional family, the shadow of his father and the endless passive-aggressive battles to put on record the melodies he plucked out of the air. Plus: the Enigma of Michael Edward Love in dense, collage gelcap form.

Not for commercial use. For educational and research purposes only. Use only as misdirected, avoid operating heavy farm machinery after inhaling these videos.
These videos are purely for

I think you are a mad genius!
I'm gonna watch them all but I can only watch one video per time.. they are a lot to take in!!

BTW, I noticed a few little fragments of video that I had never seen before.
I might compile a list and then ask you where you took them from.

Brian, I'm a mad genius too ya know!

Thanks, and yes -- ration them out like overly rich chocolates, too much of that in one sitting can lead to a cerebral aneurysm.

I'll definitely put together a sources list...

When people ask me questions like that, generally I look furtive, prepare to flee, and go... "what, why?"

I didn't kill your brother that one time, did I?

The username is from a piece of junk mail that presumably got my name horribly, horribly wrong.

While I'm confessing, I might as well mention that I bullied a garage band into covering that once. What ridiculous lyrics!

I watched http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcvcIAenipk [Marijuana Helped Me Write Pet Sounds (We're All Chemistry)] and was transported back in time to my college years.  I enjoyed it very much and look forward to watching them all.

Thanks, fellas! I should be wrapping it up later this summer/fall as the tour winds down. Took a break to do the dvd authoring and tweezering of a final cut of this insane 16mm/Super-8 feature I shot a few years ago that took ages to process and piece together...

Shameless whore mode on:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=zo_ClpdZ5Ww

Oh, and an incredibly silly fake Reading Rainbow episode about Naked Lunch. Well, of course, right?

https://vimeo.com/44846146

I think all the found footage f***ery is due to the ridiculous cost of film, but I'm addicted and video makes me itchy. It was really nice of the Beach Boys to announce a reunion a few months after I began this project. Thanks, guys!

it's all HD files of the component parts right now so that would be ludicrously big. Maybe an iso at the end or somesuch?

I've been playing with another Murry section today, mostly about his firing and the aftermath and it's... thoroughly ridiculous as can be expected.

Hi, folks! So I've been asked to do a crazy half hour segment via Craig Baldwin's OTHER CINEMA at ATA Gallery in San Francisco October 10th. More details as we work it out, but... multiple projections, a couple more musicians, and a whole lotta Murry. TWANG! It's Endless Syncopation Live! Like when we used to make clear records.

So, Pendletons and industrial goggles? Don't Back Down, Little Honda, Two Step Side Step, Male Ego? I have no clue, so give me some DUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!  I'll video it with a few cameras to capture the chaos and to incriminate myself in the eventual trial. Any SFers with guitars or sousaphones, get in touch and practice your la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la las. You're flatting. But so am I, so come on down!

Oh, and one last little tidbit of information to impart.

Someone is making me Cousin Brian and Cousin Mike handpuppets. With ML in his canary yellow sunday outfit.

BE WARNED.

Oh, and I just about finished the ending of this video. Will upload it soon.

Oops, wrong month! November. I've been tinkering with the monstrous half hour live version of this and it's going to be bonkers, with some folks helping out on quasi-harmonies and guitar... lots of stuff not online and a properly deranged conclusion to this whole project, suitable for framing. Ok, except for the fall LA show as well. Then I promise I'll stop! Really!

http://www.othercinema.com/calendar/index.html

POPTRONICA
SAT. 11/10: FREDDY MCGUIRE + VARGA + LAITALA's 3D +
Our eclectic/electric Live A/V series returns with a roster of 7 performances and several single-channel works. Lori Varga opens a Pandora's Box of 13 circuit-bent devices, mini-synth electronic toys available for audience use! Will Erokan ups the ante with his Collective Discarnate, manipulating audio and video to in fact hypnotize us ("brain entrainment")! Kerry Laitala steers the stereoscopic section of the show, using ChromaDepth glasses to explore the many dimensions of A-G classics (Belson, Bute) as well as her own debut work. PLUS Anne "Freddy" McGuire (on keyboards!) with her own video Recital, Lana "Granny" Voronina's demon-plagued electronica, David Cox' Optigan And Apps, Tommy Becker's Song for Elliott Jacques, and Soda_Jerk's succulent sample from their soon-coming Astro Black. Consummating is Andre Perkowski's live ensemble performance to his Beach Boys-obsessed Endless Syncopation. *$7.77.

So far I've got the re-written Shortnin' Bread, Don't Back Down (when an abusive father sneaks up like a ton of lead, grabs a board and hits you upside the head -- you're not afraid... not my boy...) , Monkey's Uncle, I Know There's An Answer, and Heroes and Villains in the set along with all the crazy collages and instrumental droning. Maybe Take Good Care of Your Feet.
