Title: Should I Purchase?
Post by: The Heartical Don on October 09, 2008, 05:40:00 AM
Dear friends and ephemeral acquaintances and Carl LaFong too -

I do possess the TLOS CD (European pressing) in the DeLuxe edition (CD + DVD).
Given all the recent hubbub and upheaval about its sound quality, I did some diligent searching. And now I can, with pressing one button, acquire the vinyl double LP set, still sealed, for the sum of € 15,01.

Should I give in to temptation? Or spend the money on cigars?

(Please, do not refer back to that very long thread. A simple one-liner will do, thank you in advance).

THD (oops... now I see that my initials also stand for: Total Harmonic Distortion. I don't know whether I should be happy with that...)

vinyl DOUBLE set?!?!             :o              in that case definitely YES

but that one doesn't exist, does it?

Assuming you mean the single vinyl version with fold out cover my answer would be YES as well...

What does 'Heartical' mean?

Thanks to the both of you. Of course I meant the LP (1). Sorry 'bout that mishap.

The Heartical Don is a name I found in 'The Rough Guide To Reggae' (3rd edition and mandatory for every reggae lover). It has a couple of pages explaining typical Kingstonian 'lingo'. A heartical don is a, let's say, 'important' person in a city district, who has some 'influence', and is 'loved' by all inhabitants of that district for that.
(I hyphenated the key words that, it seems to me, have a bit of a 'double meaning' and need not necessarily be unequivocally positive). Ah well.

Go for the LP - you won't be disappointed (especially for 15€).  :)
