Opel by Syd Barrett
Bee Gees 1st by The Bee Gees
Daltrey by Roger Daltrey
Venus And Mars by Wings

And the following BB's albums:
15 Big Ones (Had To Phone Ya is definitely overrated, though I quite like Palisades Park now. Most of the songs are still sh*t)
M.I.U. Album (I have seen the error of my ways with a few songs, especially Pitter Patter. But the majority still sucks)
Keepin' The Summer Alive (My opinion on this album hasn't changed at all)

With The Beatles, Rubber Soul.

Also, Radio KAOS by Roger Waters.

Finally, listened to the full SIP album. I struggled to finish it, it was THAT bad. It also re-confirmed my opinion that it's the BB's worst album hands down, and there's not a single good song on it!

Crystals - Da Doo Ron Ron. I'ma have to agree with Spector on this one: it's gold. Solid gold coming out of my cheap speakers.

Is it possible to be in love with someone's voice? I absolutely adore Sea Oleena, an artist from Montreal (via the Prairies I believe) who records her music entirely via GarageBand. She makes beautiful (and sometimes a bit warped) ethereal pop music and possesses a voice that captures the Romantic notion of beauty: hers is a voice which raises the everyday to the divine, and brings the divine down to earth. She gets compared a lot to Grouper -- another excellent ethereal pop musician -- and you can download her two EPs (for free or by donation) on her Bandcamp. She is in the midst of getting her third release completed as well, and her Tumblr has an un-mastered version of one of the tracks, "Paths", which will appear on Shallow. I think I've probably mentioned her before here but I will do it again since I really do think she deserves a wider audience. She is also currently on week three of a four-week residency at Portals (which is some sort of music blog) where she furnishes some reflections upon the world for consideration.

Listen to "Swimming Story", "Island Cottage" and "Little Army" from her first self-titled EP! Her second EP, Sleeplessness, has wonderful songs like "Southbound", "Untitled", "Milk", and the song which best captures her successfully bringing divinity earthbound, "Orion's Eyes".

Have to say too, I'm ashamed I had never heard this until a couple days ago.

Joe Bataan - Crystal Blue Persuasion

Everything about it's great.  Ripped off a 45, listen to that bacon sizzle Smiley

"Said the People" is a Dinosaur jr epic off FARM. The guitar solos at 3:05 and 5:58 are awe inspiring. I had consigned this band to the dustbin of history but here they are with three good albums in a row, all featuring the original trio of Mascis-Barlow-Murph.

Foxygen - San Francisco

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtdWGGpvY1s

This album is very good as a whole. They definitely take a lot from older acts of the 60's / 70's but it really works.
If you still haven't checked this album out I definitely suggest you do.

This song is awesome!
Though they could have done better than repeating "f*** You Mike Love" throughout the whole song.
Still great however  Grin

Hey Little Tomboy is creepy. Banging women by the pool is fun and conjures up warm summer thoughts a Beach Boys song should.

MGMT - Congratulations

Bought this a couple days ago - hearing a lot of Beach Boys influence throughout the album...even, what appears to be, an homage to All I Wanna Do in the song Flash Delirium.

God must’ve smiled the day Brian Wilson was born!

"ragegasm" - /rāj • ga-zəm/ : a logical mental response produced when your favorite band becomes remotely associated with the bro-country genre.

Ever want to hear some Beach Boys songs mashed up together like The Beatles' 'LOVE' album? Check out my mix!

Quote from: John Dewey, 'Experience and Nature' (1925), p. 38
The most serious indictment to be brought against non-empirical philosophies is that they have cast a cloud over the things of ordinary experience. They have not been content to rectify them. They have discredited them at large. In casting aspersion upon the things of everyday experience, the things of action and affection and social intercourse, they have done something worse than fail to give these affairs the intelligent direction they so much need. It would not matter much if philosophy had been reserved as a luxury of only a few thinkers. We endure many luxuries. The serious matter is that philosophies have denied that common experience is capable of developing from within itself methods which will secure direction for itself and will create inherent standards of judgment and value. No one knows how many of the evils and deficiencies that are pointed to as reasons for flight from experience are themselves due to the disregard of experience shown by those peculiarly reflective. To waste of time and energy, to disillusionment with life that attends every deviation from concrete experience must be added the tragic failure to realize the value that intelligent search could reveal and mature among the things of ordinary experience.

They are indeed Beach Boys fans, a quick search on Youtube and you'll find them covering A Day In The Life Of A Tree!
