I remember finding a best of cd about 10 years ago called 'Surfs Up'. But that song was not even on it! Just the same old songs that you normaly get. I was very upset because I couldn't find that song anywhere at the time. It was right before the twofers were released.

Usually they were 10 tracks: 2 or 3 hits and the rest deep cuts from the Capitol years. Back when I was first starting out in my fandom (pre-1990 2fers), those comps were the first places where I heard things like Girl Don't Tell Me and Your Summer Dream. |

I love this one. Esp. if it refers to the infamous Iggy Pop event, where Brian scared all present with a 45 minute rendition of Shortening Bread... I expect this package to include some little plastic bags with the Bolivian Marching Powder, to make listening bearable. |

I betcha the reverse happens a lot, too. People are searching for a random Beach Boys album to buy, "Hmm... Surf's Up sounds like a good one... I don't recognize the names of these songs, but I probably know them, I mean the band only has like 10 songs..." and then they hear a very non-beachy album. |
