Eternal Sunshine, by Jon Brion, with a few rock tracks thrown in.
I feel like much of what Jon Brion did in Eternal Sunshine, especially the Peer Pressure track, was lifted from this track by James Horner.
I also feel that much Thomas Newman's style come from this track. You can listen to his soundtrack to Road to perdition and that style is very much present in Horner's Field of dreams

The video game Fallout 3...
It has many cool big band songs that I would have never considered listening to if they weren't in the game.

Duck, Your Sucker aka Giù La Testa - Ennio Morricone.
At times it's my #1 favorite album; it's always in my Top 3.

HOLY CRAP!
So weird I looked at this thread today - I've listened to this album twice today...I've loved it for years now. It is actually one of my favorite albums period (I don't know why I forgot it on my initial list). Fisherman's Blues, No Name #3, and Elfman's score is phenomenal. Glad I'm not the only one who likes this soundtrack!

God must’ve smiled the day Brian Wilson was born!
"ragegasm" - /rāj • ga-zəm/ : a logical mental response produced when your favorite band becomes remotely associated with the bro-country genre.
Ever want to hear some Beach Boys songs mashed up together like The Beatles' 'LOVE' album? Check out my mix!

Did anyone mention Ry Cooder for "Paris, Texas" -- wonderful. As is "Local Hero" by Mark Knopfler.

Anyone here watch 'In The Shadow Of The Moon'? That movie has an incredible soundtrack - one of the best I've heard.
Oh my god, that score (and indeed the doc) is amazing. I can't find it on Spotify, much to my sadness.

All roads lead to Kokomo. Exhaustive research in time travel has conclusively proven that there is no alternate universe WITHOUT Kokomo. It would've happened regardless.

I love that scene in Casino where "The House Of The Rising Sun" by The Animals starts playing, DeNiro peeks out his door, Alan King gets blown away in the snow, people start getting whacked left and right, and Sharon Stone ends up dead in the hallway after being injected with heroin. Scorsese!

The score to
Dead Man
by Neil Young. Been a Jarmusch fan for years and have recently started to swear by Neil Young, so it's nice when 2 things overlap in such a way. The soundtrack to this works better in the context of the film, imo. It's mostly improvised, Neil solo on a guitar. It's a shame the intro/end credits theme wasn't included in the soundtrack because it's such a haunting piece.

Pulp Fiction, Moulin Rouge, American Graffiti, Cruel Intentions, Virgin Suicides, Boogie Nights
Into the Wild- "Long Nights" came through my shuffle about a week after Michael Jackson died. I was driving and I had to pull over to bawl (I hadn't even come close to crying about him before.) It's haunting.
Titanic soundtrack is good to write papers with

That's a fantastic one. That movie introduced me to CCR, Hendrix, The Mamas and the Papas, The Byrds, etc. Sometimes I would actually just watch the movie for the music!

Biggest favorite "Police Academy" - Robert Folk + "El Bimbo" during "Blue Oyster" club scenes.
Scores to "North by Northwest", "Psycho" - Bernard Herrmann
"Rear Window" (1954) - Franz Waxman
"Dead of Winter" (1987) - piano music by Richard Einhorn + automated playing Chopin's "Nocturne in C-sharp moll"
"The Night of the Hunter" - Walter Schumann; Robert Mitchum singing "Leaning", uncle Birdie playing banjo & singing "'Twas down at Cresap's Landin'"
"Spellbinder: Land of the Dragon Lord" (Australian-Chinese-Polish TV show, 1997) - Ian Davidson
"Repulsion" - Chico Hamilton
"Harry & Tonto" - Bill Conti + Art Carney singing with nerdy girl "Chicago, Chicago" while driving to Chicago to daughter (Ellen Burstyn).
"My Left Foot", "To Kill a Mockingbird" - Elmer Bernstein
"Airplane" (1980) - during credits "Notre Dame Victory March". I like marches!
"Jurassic Park", "Jaws", "Indiana Jones" - John Williams
"Pulp Fiction" - except the boring Dusty Springfield & Urge Overkill; don't like the voice & Spanish/Mexican music, respectively.
"The Good, the Bad, the Ugly" - Ennio Morricone
"La Casa 3" (trash horror with bunch of unknowns) - Piero Montanari + the organ music with evil clown toy voiceover
"La Casa 4" (trash horror with David Hasselhoff & 30-year-old Linda Blair again possessed with bunch of unknowns) - Carlo Maria Cordio + song at the end
Electronic bird noises in "The Birds"
"Educating Rita" - David Hentschel

These.
Plus, although I don't care for the movie nowadays, still like soundtrack to The Big Chill.
My favorite is The Wizard of Oz. I have the orchestral soundtrack to the whole movie and play it in the car - have got the movie memorized so know what action is going on in the movie.
