He's a passionate guy and has a vision - if not always a great vision :lol - to still be gettin' out there is an admirable thing.

Today I have new appreciation for Love.  I made it a whole 48 sec into the video until I felt my dinner coming up.

Controversial opinion here, but I think ML has gone out of his way to protect the 'harmonious' image of the Beach Boys by not talking about Dennis much after his death. I think Mike really disliked Dennis and spares little time to mourn him. Quite wisely, he shut up about it rarther than open old wounds. I'm sure Dennis was as much an A*hole towards Mike as Mike could ever be to anyone. The newest interview where Brian states his only touring memory of them in Florida during the early days was Mike and Dennis fighting.

Kudos to Mike for burrying the hatchet.

California saga is amazing. I wish him and Al had worked more together. Even though the 3/4 version seems to trip him up a little it seems.

I don't like the fact C50 isn't a thing anymore...but I like his touring Beach Boys. A well done, cheap show that can be enjoyed by anyone.

I was always under the impression it was 50/50 with Mike on lyrics and Brian with music.

Yeah, I agree. In the end though, the result of their writing was one of my favorite songs. It's a real gem.

The first halves of the verses are the second worst thing on TWGMTR, but the gorgeous chorus saves the song for me.

Good version of Barbara Ann, I'd say. Contrary to most of the hardcore fans, I really enjoy this song coz it's too catchy to ignore & not singalong to. Don't care if it's by M&B, Brian & Co, Al with Family & Friends, C50 or The Beach Boys (1965-1998) in unity. Now, the entire cheerleader-holds-guitar thing was very unnecessary & indeed creepy. Mr. Totten always seemed to me square, one of the sanest people in the extended BBs circle; I certainly didn't expect him to be crazy like that. That said, his pom-pom-playing & dancing movements were quite funny. "Scott Totten, The Ballerina of the Band" - sounds cool, esp. considering his skinny stature & gentle gestures.
