I remember reading "Punchline" on the GV Box Set was found amongst some tapes that had been kept in Murry's office and subsequently with Audree. Does anyone know what else was on the tape containing "Punchline" and the other tapes?
This is from memory but I'm sure this information was from an interview with Mark Linett in Beach Boys Stomp magazine around 1993.

Correct - from Stomp #99, Oct/Nov 1993:

"... "Punchline" and all that early stuff came from some tapes that had been stored at Brian's mother's house for the past... however many years".

The song was recorded 1/2/63 - no idea what else was done at that session.

Trivia Time:  Mark Linett has said (either here or the BB Board) that "Punchline" was one of the few BBs tunes recorded in Western's Studio Two (as opposed to Studio Three).  The "Party!" album was also cut in Two.  The console from Two now resides at Mark's Your Place Or Mine studio.

Hello AGD, Just to let you know the session isn't up on the shows and sessions section of the Bellagio 10452 website.

Thanks for that - as soon as I tapped that out I thought "oops". The gigs section is currently having the relevant 45 & LP releases added (for context) so updates will be a tad slower than usual (yes, it is possible).
