You could go on and on and on or just simply be thankful for what they did give us. Glass is half full or empty scenario.
Yeah, but paying 150€ for a half full glass... (I do like what I got, though. I just wish I'd gotten more)

Reported. What FILTH.
And I was going to use
flatus
and
rectum
in a sentence. Sure glad I got a hold of my senses first.
Seriously, I would love to hear clean professionally mixed copies of "My Solution" and "Carry Me Home". Plus maybe something from the axed Denny tour rehearsals. And those early 70's Carl demos with moog and such. Vocals only mixes of "Goin' On" and "The Trader" (first half). A 2013 mix on "Chasin' The Sky". Maybe the early version of "Keeping The Summer Alive" that is supposed to rock much more. You could go on and on and on or just simply be thankful for what they did give us. Glass is half full or empty scenario.
If they gave us what they gave us and cut out all the stuff we already have a dozen times over, and
priced it accordingly
, I'd be ecstatic.

In The Back Of My Mind backing track - one of the single greatest pieces Brian recorded. Completely ruined by DW's vocal. Sorry but i really can't stand it.
I didn't like it in mono or especially Duophonic, because his voice was overdubbed so many times. I like the new stereo mix better without all that overdubbing.

I have a very nice sound quality vinyl landlocked boot. I'm going to finally put it on a USB turntable and get it in digital format. then I can include those songs left off of MIC in my own comps.
Still f' ...ing around with vinyl boots after all these years!

Couldn't agree more. Blows my mind that BW's edit of CIFOTM wasn't included on TSS, let alone MiC.
As for the latter....I can't believe that that backing track didn't make the set. My heart sunk when the tracklist came out and ITBOMM instrumental was nowhere to be found. I've yapped about it plenty here, as have others. F8ck, even Bruce went on about that backing track on the Brian Wilson Songwriter DVD. I actually don't mind Dennis's lead, but for the love of god, it's a shame to have that backing track just sitting in the vaults.
Here's to hoping a hardcore-fan-only 2 disc album will be made soon...with all the goodies we want.

Are you insane? Of course it's one of the most beautiful and I dare say one of their most underrated songs. But Dennis did a great job, it's one of his best pre-1973 vocals! The song wouldn't be the same without it.

I prefer the version that has just one track of Dennis singing. I think it's much more effective

Recently auctioned Durrie Parks acetates.
Child Is Father Of The Man BW edit
In The Back Of My Mind backing track - one of the single greatest pieces Brian recorded. Completely ruined by DW's vocal. Sorry but i really can't stand it.
Do You Like Worms with a lead vocal from Al with original melody line and lyrics.
The remaining tracks from the BBC Top Gear session.
I think I would be willing to pay the cost of the MiC box just for these suggestions.

Hmmm... I don't think Dennis does it very well, I actually think he was a poor choice, but then, what do I know. And listening to the stereo version, I think there are parts where the strings should be louder, as they are so beautifully arranged and would give more effect to the recording. But then, the track as it is is better than anything on Love You for me...

The 1975 version of In The Back Of My Mind. I've no idea if it's any good, but it sure would be great to hear it.

If this were ten years ago, I would wager that a group of like-minded folks would collaborate to make this into a project (remember Project SMiLE anyone?). With all of the blogs and message boards drying up, I don't this this would come to fruition now.

You woke a sleeping dog and I haven't repeated myself lately, which I'm prone to do... This was a no-brainer. There should've been two boxed sets. One boxed set would be comprised of all released material, including rarities, single versions, and some mono and/or stereo mixes. The other boxed set would be comprised of all unreleased material, including some live cuts as well.
The Beach Boys deserved it and the fans deserved it. Nevermind the historical value, I believe the record company would've profited over time, and not a very long time.

Think you're right Sheriff, and the project would have reached into profit cos most of us here would have bought both despite the prereleased stuff on one of the sets. We're like that …

I really need to take the time and organize and sort my archives. I actually have a lot of what has been left off of MIC as I suspect many of you do. Still, as a music consumer of advancing years, I'd like to unwrap a new release of all of this material and simply put it on the record player. Most of all, I miss going down to the record store and buying it. Just today, on this Rainy winter day, I lamented the demise of the cozy record store I visited on many a snowy winter day as a teen. Am I alone in my nostalgia here?
