Broadway Kids - Hair

I had like 6 different version of Hair on my computer and a few years ago whenever my parents would complain that I needed a haircut I would blast them and sing along, especially the "Mary loved her son, why don't my mother me?" line..

"You're the One that I Want", Beautiful South's slowed down stax country soul duet take on the Olivia and John Grease song, revealing the very decent composition beneath the over-familiar performance,  Sort of like Richard Thompson's rehabs of Brittney Spears tunes and such,  but less musicological and more fun, with the Grease-iness intact, as in the musical but as transposed to a Wimpy's burger joint romance somewhere in the north of England.

I really like this band in their boy-girl singer early incarnation, but when the girl walked, the boy's musical-lyrical muse  walked with her in my opinion

Edit (still listening): an amazing, rocking cover of "Hang on Sloopy" by Supaphorn, a Siamese girl-led band from the sixties as retitled "Cham Chai" and available on 2005 release Thai Beat A Go-Go, Vol. 3 (heard thanks to Pandora)

"Heed the Call": Kenny Rogers & The First Edition. I don't precisely 'like' this song, but the performance is  good, and it tickles me to hear Kenny before he as was fried chicken doing a Rogers-roaster of a letter perfect Steven Stills impersonation

FWIW there's an interesting little interchange about the cover of Handle With Care by Jenny Lewis and her alt Wilburys on a clip from program Weekend America available here (at the 4:45 point if you want to cut to the chase; host Barbara Bulgrave is a little skeptical about how Jenny sings her part):

http://weekendamerica.publicradio.org/programs/index_20060128.html#picks1

I'm listening to that clip right now (just to stay true to the thread)
