Lovin Feelin
It sounded somewhat better in the low quality format of the boots. Oh well, it's just a mediocre cover...

Man, had "Sherry" been done in '64, it would widely be regarded as a classic. Don't let Brian's kinda goofy vocal confuse the fact that this is a great song, far above about 3/4 of this stuff, at least.

California Feelin'. Stevie's lyrics don't move me at all, especially the grapefruit that happens to be growing on a grapefruit tree. Some great harmonies but they're stop/start throughout…

Maybe 1964 would have saved it along with a lyric re-write. Respectfully I find the lyrics a little awkward - Sherry could have been told the bad news in a better way I think. I think a song like It's a Beautiful Day is everything that California Calling isn't. Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled voting!

Hey Little Tomboy is creepy. Banging women by the pool is fun and conjures up warm summer thoughts a Beach Boys song should.

Welcome back to a new round of BEACH BOYS SURVIVOR. This is a list complied by Fall Breaks and perfected by YOU. Remember to be respectful of others opinions. Please don't spam the thread with too much opinionating (a little is ok ).... and without further ado... Voting was spread out pretty evenly for a first round across 9 different tracks. I foresee a dramatic finish again. 8 Smilers aren't digging the Sea Cruise. As usual vote for your least favorite track. The track with the most votes gets voted off. Tally on April 25th Barnyard Blues Our Team Barbara My Love Lives On Still I Dream Of It It’s Over Now California Feelin’ (MIC 1978 version) Sherry She Needs Me (MIC) You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’ (MIC) It’s A Beautiful Day All Alone Round#1 - Why April 19 Round#2 - Brian's Back April 21 Round#3 - Sea Cruise April 23 Barnyard Blues is the next to go for me. There is a moment where no one knows what the hell they are singing that, though I love it, gives it the deserved boot I feel it needs.
