No - the picture might be fodaed, but the footage is from the fall 1966 tour. It's been screened several times in the UK, either at the NFT or Stomp conventions. the 'shopping sequence - Alan & Dennis - is quietly amusing.

Do you see them buy a firehat for Brian? That's some cool stuff.

Would that so happen to be the same clip (Al & Dennis) that Jon Stebbins mentioned in his Dennis book, where Jardine was stoned?

I ordered it at the local record store, but they say the release keeps getting delayed again and again.

Very dissapointing DVD... The back cover already mentioned that the DVD doesn't include music, but it actually doesn't have any sound at all! So this is only for the really really big fans...

So it's just silent 16mm footage with Keith Badman occasionally talking over it?

I've only seen the first 15 minutes, but so far it doesn't have any sound at all, not even any narration... Not sure if that just how the DVD is or if there's something wrong with my copy...

And by the way, the back cover doesn't say anything about any narration.

Gosh, that's silly. They should at least have something in the way of background music or some such.

I saw this video today at a store with this cover: http://www.dvdempire.com/Exec/v4_item.asp?site_id=4&item_id=937712&partner_id=41924685

I hadn't heard of this DVD before today. From what I've been able to find out, it has no sound. Is this different-covered one an updated version from the one everyone else is talking about? It sounds really interesting, but is it worth buying? Thanks!

I really liked it...it's not for the casual fan, that's for sure...as has been said before, absolutely NO sound of any kind whatsoever. I did enjoy the scenes of Dennis and Al shopping...really great stuff there. Kept me amused. I enjoyed the footage of them at the airport...some of the other footage was at least semi-enjoyable. The worst part is that the footage is repeated over and over again...some scenes are in there three times, I swear.

Since there wasn't any sound, I just popped Pet Sounds on the cd player and had that as background music. Worked nicely.

No. It's a raw home video without any sound whatsoever, so it's utterly boring.

i had an old girlfriend who thought i was crazy for buying it at the price i did, let alone buying it...a dvd without sound, what's the point?

well, it's fun to figure out what theyre singing...i think i saw them singing Graduation day

Get it on netflixed then copied onto my hard drive and added the sound from the Hawaii 1967 shows. A lot more fun now.

The original edit with Marianne Faithful narrationg has been circulating for about 20 years. I didn't find it until about ten years ago. There is more on the silent DVD though then was in the original.

Yeah, I have seen Dennis and Al shopping on youtube with sound. I can't check from work if it is still up there though. It was pretty cool to have that kind of footage though. I proper release would be amazing!

Has anyone ever thought about syncing up the Marianne Faithful internet version with the DVD and making it more "watchable"?

I bought this when it came out after having a poor quality boot of it for a few years.. Bought it at Tower records 2007 for like 30-40 bucks if you can believe that.. I took out cd"s from the Pet Sounds Box set + played that while watching it.. Worked just fine. For fanatics only..
