The lead vocals just broke my mirror, due to me throwing a cup at it

The backing video is a lot more appealing, or would be with a different soundtrack

You know Mike is going to be out there till his dying day, headlining Sea World at 99 years old, still singing those songs of surf, sand and fun, surrounded by bikini clad girls.

My sincere thanks for posting that, ahem...trainwreck :o :o :o :o. So, I should go see 'em,  ??? ??? ???? Not on your life, man. I've seen better bar bands than this disaster. Horrible, just absolutely horrible. Time to yank the license and give it to Brian Wilson before the legacy is completely wiped out by these hacks.

I'm a little concerned about some of the recent advertising.

I mean...that's just not right.

"Kokomo" came off the worst...this song has never sounded especially great at any of the shows I've attended 1988-2014. That's not a Mike bash either.

I think early on it sounded good when it first came out, but over time it's kinda stale.  I don't know that the stripped down arrangement they use suits it either.  I'll admit to not minding the song and it's one my favorite Mike vocals on the studio version.  Maybe it would be better in a different place in the set list.

I think they are overbooking and just wearing their asses out.   200 shows this year and they aren't but about half way through.   Spoke to three of them at two venues this year, 3 months apart and they just seem exhausted.    I love these guys but they have taken on too much........why I'm not sure,  but I don't think they are having fun and their hearts are not in it for this grueling endless tour.   or so it is starting to appear.    I've had my two Beachboys shows this year.   I'm done.      I stopped seeing the band in the 80's when I realized they were starting to book two gigs in a day on tours.  It felt forced and impersonal and Ingenuous and ceased to be special.   Unless they are having financial problems, I don't see why they are doing this.

Saw them do a 53 song set in Manchester just over a month ago and they killed it. Thoroughly impressed - All I Wanna Do, Surf's Up and Til I Die, for Chrissakes? To my mind they did nothing but honour the legacy of the music. That said the intensity of their touring schedule is a little baffling - why burn yourself out and put your bodies and voices under the kind of punishment that performers half your age would balk at?

As for the videos, well, Brian has off nights too and few people give him sh*t for it. Hell, everyone has off nights regardless of age. There's probably not a group around where you couldn't cherry pick song clips and justify any tour as being both their best and worst depending on what suited your purpose.

I did consider posting a few less than flattering links of Brian performing just to balance Nate's post but I'd hate to be accused of having an 'agenda' or something.

This thread is hilarious because it doesn't mention "autotune".  Probably.
