Ahh, I would have expected it to sound a bit fuller; makes one pine for the live BBs version where Mike adds real feeling !

I just realized a musical similarity between "Monster Mash" and "Teeter Totter Love".
Anyone else notice this? I guess it's that both are cut out of the '60s novelty tune template, and probably unintentional on BW's part, but I do hear it.

Yes, I'm sure some people did.
Actually I was there. Note their costumes on FB. The audience was like a bunch of 80-year-olds watching Doo-Wop on PBS in their Barcaloungers. I stood up during a fast song, and one old biddy tugged at my shirt because she couldn't see.

Well, I thought I'd seen everything, but Bruce Johnston performing Monster Mash in a marijuana costume was certainly a first.

On our way through this "backstage" maze, Bruce joined up with the group and said hello, singing "It Never Rains in Southern California" and joking with some of the older ladies. I'm not sure if they knew he was a Beach Boy or simply an enthusiastic elderly gay gentleman.

Mike with a wig. Can someone with the tech savy get a shot for the Mike Love picture thread? Got to be a few captions there.

Never thought I'd see the day Mike appears on stage with a cannabis plant. Strange world...

Especially when that cannabis plant doubles as Bruce Johnston.

Dennis is now represented by "Do You Wanna Dance", which sounded like a single lead vocal track from the recording. It sounded rather ghoulish in its seemingly-autotuned flat affect.
The video on the screen during was some live early-60's footage of Dennis.

The f***, Bruce? First you make everybody think you're this lamewad square, but now you're this weed leaf wearing kind of person I'd love to burn a fatty blunt with while knocking back a few Pacificos watching reruns of Family Guy.

Maybe the theme was "Opposite day," like they have in schools. So, Mike has hair and Bruce is "doing drugs."

While I do think it's hilarious that Bruce wore a pot plant costume, it totally baffles me that he and Mike would have a drug reference like that be part of their show (even under Halloween comedic circumstances), considering how Mike has endlessly mentioned how much he looks down upon drug use of all kinds. Bruce has certainly mentioned disparaging drug use quite a bit too.

His costume says "stay off the grass". Doesn't sound like he's supporting drug use to me.

Maybe his instructions were mis-heard. Instead of 'I'm a bit stiff at Halloween' it came out as 'I'm a big spliff...'
