I don't mean to be an asshole, but you might want to look into things a little more thoroughly before posting offhanded dismissals. Janet Jackson, George Michael, Boyz II Men, Mariah Carey, Usher and others had #1s produced by this duo. Not to mention, they were an integral part of the collection of talent from which Prince (and not quite so impressively, but still cool, Morris Day & the Time) arose, the Minneapolis sound.

Janet Jackson, Boys II Men, Mariah Carey, George Michael, and Usher aren't exactly pillars of artistic credibility, though. If Jam and Lewis had used real/"organic" instrumentation, or at least better sounding synths (think more New Wave and less New Jack), I'd cut them a little more slack.

Yeah. For some reason Billy sang with the choir.

This is interesting, Bruce talks about his time at the Interlochen Arts Camp:

Through the mufflers and on street tires, the documented, original, and surviving Two-Lane Blacktop '55 Chevy makes an exhibition pass at Tulsa International Raceway in 2009. This is not a clone, but the actual car used by James Taylor and Dennis Wilson to film scenes inside the Chevy for Two-Lane Blacktop. Sold by the studio not long after the movie was completed, it disappeared into private hands and obscurity until found in Canada, purchased by Walt Bailey, and restored to its original movie appearance by Walt Bailey and Richard Ruth. Ruth issued a certificate of authenticity on this car. The movie's director Monte Hellman enlisted it for use in the Criterion DVD release of Two-Lane Blacktop. James Taylor was reunited with the Chevy in 2009 and after looking the car over top to bottom remarked that it looked just like it did when he last drove it in 1970.

Love this. Lyrics don't make much sense, haha, but u gotta love how Dennis is clearly into it and sells his brother's song with a vocal that says he believes in it.  Would love to see this released officially w/the 50th anniversary stuff coming out.

Artistic credibility in pop music is somewhere between mythical and overrated.

First time I hear this. I'm speechless. I wonder how someone being the leadsinger in one of the greatest - if not THE greatest - band in the world, co-writer on many classics that will be forever cherished could be responsible for such sh!t as this....
