Wow - definitely have never seen these "making of MIU" videos.
What are they sourced from? There's some background bits that didn't make it in the final album too. They sound like somewhat different mixes too.

Hmmm...

Why do those MIU clips remind me of that "Wonderland Murders" crime scene video?

You mean 90s/00s Brian? Look for videos of Brian & Band doing their encores (Fun, Fun, Fun etc.) - usually Brian leaves his chair, gets a bass strapped on and "plays along". Actual bass work... nah..  Sad

Carnival is awesome, almost like a smile era track.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

That version of Big Sur is one of my favorite Beach Boys songs. Hope it's on the box set.

I notice in more than a few Happy Days episodes references to The Beach Boys was used (Chachi touring with them, Joanie and Chachi going to their concert) and a bad version of I Get Around was used in a dance sequence as well.

Listened to the whole 20-tracks compilation earlier today - it's really worth a listen, and you can tell that there was a fan at work there.

Cool Al interview, including some (frustratingly brief) clips of him playing banjo and various guitars. We need to see/hear more of his musicianship!

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.
