a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.- Lester Bangs on The Beach Boys PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LISTTo sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.- Jack Rieley

A GREAT live version of 'Rhonda' by the Ed Turner Band , exactly the same arrangement as on the BB's 1973 Live Album - This really does smoke.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awpA6R64O-0

This was recorded during the Heroes And Villains sessions in early 1967, I believe.

Well, other than "his 9th wedding" .... just put yourselves in his shoes for about 30 seconds.
If you wrote the words to California Girls and however many other songs and came up with vocal hooks and the like, you'd want credit too. I can freaking guarantee it!
Why he waited so long, who knows? But still.......

Dang, Phil Spector is jealous of Brian and shows it by saying BS about how good vibrations was an edit record. Brian knows how "be my baby works", he is just amazed by song and what it inspired it to do. I always get a kick out of seeing spector bash Brian in interviews, while Brian acts like Phil is the coolest and best record producer ever.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Yeah, I think this version is much better than the version Brian put out. I love those backing vocals! Mike's "Searchin my soul" part is pretty cool too. If you listen to this, Still A Mystery, Gettin' In Over My Head(Paley version) and It's Not Easy Being Me, you kind of get an idea of how good one last album from them could have been.

Can anyone identify this concert? Late 70's, for sure. Austrailia? Due to inebriated Carl? Also, horrifying Mike Love stage patter, but that's thru the ages EDIT: It's the Melbourne 78 Show, isn't it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8TPmWd0-AM&feature=related
