What about Disco Celebration?

EDIT: By the way if your going to include "the unmade 'ecological' concept album" then maby you should include Brian's health food album etc..

I want to include the physical fitness album, but I don't know where it falls chronologically.  The Bellagio page's "Ones That Got Away" page is missing stuff like that (along with "40 Top 40's", which I don't think was ever released even though Andrew's book mentions it, and "Stars and Stripes 2".)

I added some sections:

BLONDIE CHAPLIN
* Blondie Chaplin
* Ostrich Man (with Skollie) - I can't find a tracklist for this ANYWHERE.
* Fragile Thread
* Between Us

THE FLAMES/THE FLAME
* Ummm! Ummm! Oh Yeah!
* That's Enough
* Burning Soul!
* Soulfire!!
* Soul Meeting!!
* The Flame
(There are at least three other Flames albums as well, including an unreleased Brother Records release I believe, but all of these are compilations.  Incidentally, I wouldn't mind hearing these albums - would be interesting to hear a young Stig O'Hara doing Beatles covers!!  Tongue)

THE RUTLES
* The Rutles (both versions)
* Archaeology
* Sweet Rutle Tracks (the album's worth of unreleased material that's been passed around on countless bootlegs... "Sweet Rutle Tracks" was the name of the core bootleg though, and all others are just rip offs of it)

Still not sure about David Marks, though.

EDIT: Added "Disco Celebration" - I'd never heard of that one.  I also started a David Marks section...

DAVID MARKS
* Without Earth (with The Moon)
* The Moon (with The Moon)
-> I don't know the tracklists of these.  I know there's a 2fer CD, but I can't tell where one album stops and the other begins!
* Something Funny Goin' On
* I Think About You Often
* Live At Blue Dolphin
-> There are a couple David Marks compilations as well - "The Lost Years" and a collection of Marksmen songs.

Hubba Hubba by Dennis Wilson?  Is that the same unfinished album that was titled "Dennis Wilson Poops"?

The 'fitness album' seems to date from either slightly post-Smile or 1969/70 - I've not included it because it was just a bright idea, no recording ever done as far as I know.

40 Top 40s transformed into the excellent UK 3CD Platinum Collection, and was a company concept in any case. Likewise, Stars & Stripes Vol. 2 was an intention rather than a reality.

There's a few more Bruce odds & ends here - http://www.btinternet.com/~bellagio/bruce.html

Same album - Dennis referred to it by both names, often in the same interview.  Smiley

You left out "Songs From Here And Back", last year's Hallmark release.  A live album with three new studio tracks.

You may want to add Al's soon-to-be-released (?) "Postcard From California".

Was "Songs From Here And Back" a unique live album or just rehashed tracks from older live LP's?

Live tracks from 1974 & 1989

Otherwise unreleased.  And the three studio tracks (in case you didn't know) are solo ventures from Brian, Al, and Mike (all of recent vintage).

I'm assuming you mean the Beach Boys' unreleased "Adult Child"?  That's in there... I might've forgotten it on my list, but it's in there.

Oh. Yeah, so you did have Adult Child. THe above ones that I've left in your quote I have never heard of before. Was California Feening the working title for an album? What are these others?

What about the Hamburger (Cocaine) sessions?

A World of Peace Must Come is an album of Steve Kalinich's poetry with musical backing by Brian Wilson and Hubba Hubba was an early title for Dennis Wilson's recording sessions in the early 70's (if Im not mistaken). The Wilson Project was Gary Usher's recordings with Brian before his first solo album. Im pretty sure if you go to Andrew's site there will be more info there about the albums under the "unreleased albums" section.

Yeh but was the Hamburger sessions ever going to be an album?

No it the burgers and coke sessions were just demos possibly for the Cousin's, Friends, and Brothers project.

I didn't know about the Deadman's Curve soundtrack, so if anyone could supply information, as in dates and tracklists...

However, I do actually have Bruce's album with the Vettes in my discography (the download post for which is a couple pages back, although that version's a little out of date).  As for David's "Work Tapes", I've never heard of that one... although, if it's like "The Lost Years" (i.e., a Beatles Anthology-type compilation of outtakes and demos), it doesn't really have a spot in the discography.

DAVID MARKS : WORKS TAPES

Created by David and some of his friends during the MIDI explosion of the early 90’s. Shopped around various labels as a complete project but no-one took up on the option, and subsequently shelved until David issued it via his own website during 2000. Therefore ... IMHO ... it demands inclusion !

1.Siren Song (Buzz Clifford)
2. Ocean Liner (Buzz Clifford)
3. I Wanna Be Your Driver (Chuck Berry)
4. Fool’s Guarantee (David Marks)
5. Over My Head (Buzz Clifford/David Marks)
6. Doctor Of Love (David Marks)
7. Bamboo Shack (David Marks/Buzz Clifford)
8. Early In The Morning (David Marks)
9. Have Love Will Travel (Richard Berry)
10. Hollywood Joe (Daniel Moore/Buzz Clifford)

DEADMAN’S CURVE SOUNDTRACK

Conceived in 1978 as a follow-up to the successful TV movie, basing the track selection around the songs featured in the film. Jan Berry was initially very enthusiastic about the project, whilst Dean Torrence was reportedly not so keen, although with assistance from Mike Love and Papa Doo Ron Ron 14 new versions of classic oldies were recorded (predominantly by Dean and Mike), along with four tunes recorded earlier by Jan and Dean that had originally appeared in the film. Offered to various labels it was ultimately turned down by all and was shelved. Eventually, a number of the tracks did surface on the Jan & Dean “Silver Summer” album in 1984, along with a bunch of other ‘remakes’, but all of Mike’s lead vocals were subsequently replaced by Dean’s …

Track selection (not necessarily in the correct order)

I Only Have Eyes For You (Jan & Dean)
Get A Job (Jan & Dean)
Teenager In Love (Jan & Dean)
One Summer Night (Jan & Dean)
New Girl In School (Mike & Dean)
Jennie Lee : Bluegrass Version (Jan & Dean)
Surfin’ Safari (Mike)
Little Old Lady From Pasadena (Mike)
Surf City (Dean)
Shut Down (Mike)
Deadman’s Curve (Dean)
Baby Talk (Dean)
Little Deuce Coupe (Mike)
Drag City (Dean with Mike)
Fun Fun Fun (Mike)
Sidewalk Surfin’ (Mike & Dean)
Be True To Your School (Mike)

I have the Sea of Tunes sessions from Friends and 20/20. I think it's volume 18. Anyway, the last 2 tracks are 'America I Know You'. It is spoken poetry (I believe Kalinich is talking) with backround music. I love it. Is that from the Kalinich/Wilson poetry or world peace album I keep hearing about?

A World Of Peace Must Come  (Steve Kalinich)
recorded August-September 1969
produced by Brian Wilson
Candy Face Lane* - Birth Of God* - Deer, Elk, Raven - The Magic Hand (Fury Palm)* - Lonely Man - Be Still* - Walk Alone With Love - A World Of Peace Must Come - If You Knew* - America, I Know You*
[titles noted * are poems with musical backing: the others are songs]

   Poet Steve Kalinich was introduced to the Beach Boys by Arnie Geller & Steve Korthof and initially signed to Brother Records in 1968 as part of his group, Zarathurstra And Thelibus, for whom Carl produced the unreleased "Leaves Of Grass", based on the Whitman poem. Kalinich then began collaborating with Dennis, two of their songs being included on Friends and one on 20/20 ("All I Want to Do", on which Steve is for some reason uncredited). During 1969, he began collaborating with Brian on a projected album that would marry his poetry with Brian's musical backing. Including the full version of "Be Still", the album was finished, but remains unreleased to this day. To judge from the tracks which have surfaced in the collector's realm, Brian's musical backing to the poems was added in an impromptu fashion.

What time of the year was the "Dead Man" soundtrack from?  Was it before or after the May '78 "Almost Summer" soundtrack?

It was before the movie was shot in late 77 I think. Very early 78 at the latest.
