OK, I'm gonna take this even further - what's wrong with "Battle Hymn of the Republic" and "Wrinkles"??  (I haven't heard those two either...)

I've never heard "Hey Little Tomboy", but read the lyrics of the album version.  I've also heard over and over about how bad the original, unreleased version was.  Anyone care to elaborate??

So, is it safe to guess that his "Pied Piper" CD probably sucked??

I don't understand why we need all these stupid compilations... just put out the boxed set or three Greatest Hits CD's and shut the hell up already!

Same with the Beatles.  The only compilation worth getting (non-Anthology) was the "Yellow Submarine Songtrack", because everything was a different mix.  Stupid CD's like "One" are unnecessary.

I tried emailing the guy who created the "Last Smile Of the Pied Piper" fan-mix, and got this wacked-out response:

Does anyone know this guy?  What the hell is his problem??  He's 'not allowed to talk about' something that he made?  WTF?!

I'd love to hear a 12-minute "Heroes", if it wasn't just all a bunch of random segments taped together (like the 10-minute variations on bootlegs). 

How is that 15-minute "Good Vibrations" on the one Smile mix?? 

I saw a "Beach Boys Greatest Hits" at a used CD store that was just a bunch of instrumentals from 1961 or thereabouts... no 'hits' at all.

I also think there's one that inadvertantly includes "The Little Old Lady From Pasadena", and not the Beach Boys' cover.

I'm kind of like that, it depends on my mood.  Sometimes I listen to "Feel Flows" and really study the words, and something I just think "MAN, I GOTTA CRANK THE BASS!"   

Either way... that song has cool bass.

I take back my thought that inserting "Fire" would sound cool... I just stuck "Heroes And Villains Intro" after 'you're under arrest', and it sounds horrible there!

What out-of-the-ordinary sections have you heard in fan reconstructions of Heroes And Villains, and where in the song did they occur?

I heard of one that put the 'intro' from the boxed set after "You're under arrest!"  That actually sounded like a pretty good idea... sort of like a madcap Keystone Cops-type chase in the middle of the song.

You know what's sad?  He'll never ever get the chance to experience the beauty of his own music in stereo.  "Pet Sounds" is *nothing* unless it's in stereo.  (Debatable yes, but I hate the mono versions.)

In David Leaf's book, there is a mock-up of an ad for "Landlocked", using a bunch of fake song titles.  Does anyone have a scan of this ad?

I've only seen the Smile documentary so I don't have much to compare to, but did he always only talk out of one side of his mouth?  I just wondered, because hearing the old outtakes where he speaks (like the piano rendition of H&V) that didn't appear to be so.  It just seems like now he actually *sounds* like someone who is partially deaf, whereas in the early days, you couldn't really tell.

What BB albums have you given as gifts to people, and what did they think about them?  (Silly question I know, but I just wondered...  )

I gave "Smile" to an old high school teacher... it was the Purple Chick version, but I touched it up a little to smooth out some of their mistakes (like the horrible slow-down effects).  He thought it was okay, but "the harmonies got repetitive."  (??)

If you could change and alter Brian's "Smile" before its release, what would you change?

I would've gotten rid of the useless, irritating "I'm In Great Shape" medley and just started the third part with Vega-Tables.  Otherwise, it's fine.

Yes I know, I'm going to make the title track myself based on the description of it.  (It was similar to "Tomorrow Never Knows" and had animal sounds.  I.e., acid trip version of "Barnyard".)

"Feel Flows"... I heard it in 'Almost Famous', and I completely latched onto it.  What a masterpiece.

I would also pick "Heroes And Villains".

I'm thinking age.   Just listen to Roger Waters nowadays, he actually *sounds* like an old man.  ("Amused To Death" is a great example.)

I haven't heard anything of Brian's recently except "Smile", and I thought he sounded pretty good, even on the live DVD.  Certainly not the "classic" Wilson voice, but pleasant enough.

I'd really like to try my hand at being the first to reconstruct the "Remember The Zoo" LP, but I hit one snag... is 'Teeter-Totter Love' available on any bootleg???  That's the only track I can't find.

As for the nonexistent title track, I have some ideas up my sleeve
