Glad to hear you are feeling better...Now On With The Show!
I like the last four (five really) about equal, so no vote for me this round. To say, would it just be considered a "spite" vote - cause it would be for "My Diane"...it's going to the final anyway.
I would request that you open the comments back up on Survivor #27. Too often it's becoming common for Threads to be closed by the time I catch-up to the end. Are you aware that some of the post Thread Titles have been altered to: Rightful Winner: "Baby Blue"?
I voted for the song that I thought was the best of what was left to pick from. I don't do many polls, but if I did you would know my favorite songs from that album are "Full Sail" and "Goin' South" more than "Baby Blue." I think it's one of their best 70's long-players, Much better than M.I.U. - Brian's involvement or not. I don't share a lot of what I think about favorites, because so many are favorites. This is my favorite band, and I don't think much of what they did was sub-standard. Again, open back up the comments on #27. This Is just a Game, if some want to take it so personally - then don't let them have the final word.
peace Will

Welcome back to the FINAL round of BEACH BOYS SURVIVOR. Remember to be respectful of others opinions. Please don't spam the thread with too much opinionating (a little is ok
).... and without further ado...
Quote
"M.I.U. Album is the twenty-second studio album by The Beach Boys, released on October 2, 1978 on Brother/Reprise. Recorded during a fraught time for the band, only Mike Love, Al Jardine, and Brian Wilson appear consistently throughout the album, with Carl and Dennis Wilson audible on only a few tracks. Produced by Al Jardine and songwriter Ron Altbach, the album's title stems from Maharishi International University in Fairfield, Iowa, where the majority of the album was recorded.
Reflecting on the album in 1992, Mike Love noted, "It was too democratic. Everybody coming into it with their song, which is okay. It's like if you have an album and have a hit song on it, and it's very commercially viable. Doesn't it make sense to have another song that would also be commercially viable? And a third and a fourth."
Sweet Sunday Kinda Love. Gone on Monday. (12)

I like Brian's smooth vocal on Matchpoint, but ultimately the disco-vibe is a turn off.
I actually like Brian's vocals on She's Got Rhythm too. Fun to sing in the car by myself.
But my favorite is My Diane. EVERYTHING IS WRONG AND NOTHING IS RIGHT!!!!
Love it.

She's Got Rhythm. Just great fun - it may not be sung well, but I don't think much of the vocals on My Diane either.

My Diane to win, no doubt. Fitting final three. I've agreed with just about every elimination for this one.

She's Got Rhythm
is a fun album opener, and who would have imagined Brian could sing like that after the vocal travesty that is Love You. It gets my vote!

No question, the Best song on this record made it to the Final. The Five Best made it to the end. Good Job voters. My vote:
"Match Point of Our Love"
I never thought of this track as disco. Just Beautiful.

My Diane.
Okay, so a proper Dennis song never won. At least a song with a full Dennis vocal would be great!
Not to mention how this song blows everything else off this album!

You're forgetting about the next odd's and ends. He has Barnyard Blues and My Love Lives On in the round.
