Some eccentric, Some genius, Some savant people see and hear things differently than most of us.  So for instance some people see things as colors, Brian did a little thing in an interview a year or so ago where he talked about what color all the notes were to him.  Several of the notes were the same color, lol..

Anyways, he would be the type of person tuned into that, so maybe numbers have a special signicance to him, and mean much more to him than they do to normal people.

I don't mean numerology, I mean an untrained, natural thing.  I think to most people some numbers sound better than others, too.  I have a business, and have noticed that something priced at 899... will often sell better than if it were priced at 749.  Why?  ...because 899 looks and sounds better than 749.   1199 is better than 1099.  Etc.

Brian is obsessed with the number five since his favorite vocal group is The Five Freshmen.

Holy sh*t!

This video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcPjQVDwZPY&feature=plcp was linked in another thread.

He is offered lotions, asks for five drops, and says something along the lines of "that's a good number"

Brian and Dave Clark had a meeting at Five Guys Burgers and Fries.
Dave Clark blindfolded Brian and said "I'm holding my hand up. How many fingers?"

Most of the classic 1960s Beach Boys Capitol singles begin the with prefix of 5.

One of Brian's favorite albums is Four Freshmen and Five Trombones.

One of Brian's signature songwriting innovations was putting the 5th in the bass line.  Also many many of his songs have featured V-I progressions
