Hey Jude........ Every point you bring up i already knew.. I was trying to post something positive and nice for the xmas season.. Im an old fart i grew up with the BB.. So i hope your post was not directed at just me.. And when Mike took over BB name the internet lit up.. How can he tour without any wilson"s and  make it without screwin with the LEGACY.. And be profitable.. Well im surprised how well he has done.. Even tho most gigs are small places and he travels as Bruce said..Walmart style..Ive seen BB band 6 times over 20 years.. Ive seen BW 23 times over the same time period.. So you know who i support.. Just sayin..

SORRY.. I thought it was obvious.. The best version of the band since Mike took over the name.. Ive only seen the band a few times since 1999... Everytime the band changes members i go check them out..   And the band he has now is the only one id pay to see again.. I thought the worst version was the 1st one..   So i hope im clear now thx.

ya know one thing for sure.. Mike Love ENJOYS his life.. And for a guy his age to work as hard as he does when he doesnt have to.. Amazing..  After CW died he was doin some funky gigs for awhile.. In 2000 a week before BW played 2 nites at the Hollywood bowl with 1st tour of Pet Sounds. BB played a park in Pasadena Ca where there was only a few hundred people there with lots of  empty seats.. I was there it was SAD... Now look where he is.. It"s obvious the media likes and supports Mike"s version of BB TODAY.. Im sure c50 helped also.. And it help"s he has rearrainged the band a number of times to what he has now.. the best version of BB band.. And the odd"s were against him.. We pick on him for using BB name.. WELL.. He is laughing all the way to the bank.. Gotta applaud the effort even tho we may disagree..

Nate.. Lets see.. Mike Bruce Al  sober.. Carl the only time in HIS time in BB history drugs and alcohol affected his performances was 77 78..  played with BB thru 1997.. Dennis WAS erratic 79 83 .. played with BB thru 1983..Brian .. He was on meds for his condition from 76 to this day in time.. as far as drugs and alcohol are concerned .. the other BB wouldnt allow that unless he snuck it behind their backs. which DID happen on occasion but it was rare.. ive been goin to their shows since early 70"s.. They always put on a professional show.. 98% of the time.. your comments on stoned drunk paranoid Wilson"s is out of line IMHO.. your allowed to have your opinon but you never saw the BB in 70"s or 80"s.. because if you did you wouldnt have posted that..IMHO

WOW.. Well said especially the 2nd paragraph..Mike see"s his band as an extension unbroken in legacy legitimacy and legality .. WOW.. I like Brian"s attitude better.. I go see both band"s all the time..  but i never consider Mike"s band as the Beach Boys.. c50 was the last breath of the band IMHO..

I was under the impression from interviews .. Our Prayer was the opening track on Smile and it went into H+V .. cantina version..

At Costa Mesa they sold over 4600 tickets.. Well where i was sitting it was almost full so they must have gave away ALOT of tickets.. Nothin wrong with that.. But it hold 9600.. It used to seat 17000 before they got rid of lawn section .. Every year from 1983 thru 1992 BB played there every summer.. Lots of BB memories in that venue for me.. Saw BB every year there..

Go to BW website.. 2018 is a PET SOUNDS tour.. I cant believe this..!!!!! I saw this 2017 show  3 times.. Indio ..Hollywood.. Costa Mesa.. Indio and Costa Mesa.. were shorter shows with no breaks.. Songs were cut from the 1st set..  I cant see goin again in 2018 unless there is a revamp of songs.. saw PS twice in 2000.. twice in 2006-7..and once in 2016.. Thats  8 times total.. And 3 times Smile 2004 5..  One time TLOS.. Grand total since 1999 23 times i believe or more..                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         y                                                                        Its funny i was listening to BW 2002 england a couple of shows recently pet sounds tour and the 1st set had LOTS of deep cuts and must have had 20 songs in it.. Stuff from surfs up.. friends.. smile.. ballads from today lp side 2.. I yearn for those days again.. Solo songs and deep cuts.. im sorry i sound like a broken record.. i keep bring this up.. i mean in 2002 BW sang Forever and Good Timin in tribute to DW CW.. i guess you cant go back they say

i tried to watch it but when it got to goin to India with The Beatles i turned it off.. Mike has a script thats about 25 yrs yrs and runnin.. There is nothing new  to learn from him anymore.. The best thing i can say about Mike is he now over the last few years has put together the best version of his band.. Its NOT the Beach Boys but they do play and sing well.. I saw them summer of 2016 at Pala casino..  I was impressed.. Its not BW band but it will do..

Im sure Dennis is in a better place.. DW grew up in a family that went to church and were believers..  He knew right from wrong and a good guy just a little wild in his youth.. He never talked about manson again and was deeply troubled by ever knowing him.. im sure his addictions went out of control from the guilt of knowing him.. I never knew DW but do know about addictions and guilt.. i use my own problems to try to understand DW.. just my take on things..

WOW.. 14 shows in 15  days..?? I"d be tired also.. LOL .. Someone needs to tell Mike you cant take all that$$$ with you when you pass on.. Slow down a little and enjoy life.. Get a hobby. !!  Imagine being a roadie and have to hump all that stuff in + out ..Oh my..

YEA.. I have this on vhs..Excellent video.. If i remember right there is some video that is not on any other BB/BW collection.. Worth seeking out.. Ive never seen a dvd of this  anywhere for sale.. But i havent looked around for a few years.

BULLSHIT i agree.. ML always has to bring up BW ups + downs.. No matter how he words it its negative.. for a guy that meditates and is involved with spiritual matters  ML is more  depressed  than BW ever was.. ML re writes the legacy like a politican..

Ya know there is a famous interview with DW back in 70"s that he said the BB will be touring when we get old and in wheel chairs..!!  the previous post reminded me of that interview.. LOL
