so warner bros made the BBs put their name on love you. It should have been Brian loves you ... we all know that. Id sum up that year with love you and the ramones' rocket to russia. Other great albums like skrewdriver all skrewed up, the first clash album, elvis costello, sex pistols, damned, ....and of course pacific ocean blue/ its a damn shame they gave dennis sh*t and essentially prevented him from doing a solo tour.

Glad it didn't come out as a solo album! Love You is as much a legitimate BB album as All Summer Long and Pet Sounds.

Right which is why it is referred to as a real window into Brian 1976-77. It is Brian basically (well with a small amount of polishing by Carl) basically in censored. Thus it really allows you to see the difference between Brian 1967 and 1977. He could still come up with great melodies but his voice was shot and he no longer seemed to be concerned with perfection. Instead he captured a sort of Polaroid of where he was at

This thread is going places.

If we want to see 'going places', try a new topic labelled, 'summing up 1967...'

"It's more blessed to give than receive"

“For me, making music has always been a very spiritual thing, and I think anybody who produces records has to feel that, at least a little bit. Producing a record . . . the idea of taking a song, envisioning the overall sound in my head and then bringing the arrangement to life in the studio . . . well, that gives me satisfaction like nothing else.”

"Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man."
