Title: OK Everybody, Sing
Post by: Coda Hall on June 13, 2015, 07:24:59 PM
I'm not sure if it's been covered already, but it seems OK Everybody Sing has shut down. Does anybody by any chance know what happened? Also, did anybody save the sheet music for Wouldnt it Be Nice and Kiss Me Baby? If so, it would mean a lot if someone could send them!

That is really too bad.  I saved some of these a while ago, I will see if I can dig them up.

Unsure how many people know the story behind the site, but the man who transcribed all of these wonderful vocal charts, Alan Deane, was tragically struck and killed by a motorist while on his bicycle in Los Angeles a few years ago.  I met him once-- I gave him a ride to a bus station while we talked about Beach Boys music.  When we got there, we sat in the car for another 30 minutes finishing our conversation.

Id appreciate it so much! Thank you! So sad that he had to go out that way, he was very talented at transcribing Brian Wilson's harmonies.

I am bumping this thread because I found the link to his BB vocal scores.

There's a very incomplete archive of "OK, Everybody, Sing" at the Internet Archive at:

http://wayback.archive.org/web/20120207103150/http://okeverybody.com/beach_boys

(Found using "Resurrect Pages (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/resurrect-pages/)" for Firefox or "Go Back in Time (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/go-back-in-time/hgdahcpipmgehmaaankiglanlgljlakj)" for Chrome.)

As atroxi mentions below, you can use the link http://wayback.archive.org/web/*/http://okeverybody.com/* (http://wayback.archive.org/web/*/http://okeverybody.com/*) to find the files that are extant in the archive.

I noticed but I don't think any of the original midis are available. I was looking for Our Prayer.

Try this link, and filter by "mid"... http://wayback.archive.org/web/*/http://okeverybody.com/* (http://wayback.archive.org/web/*/http://okeverybody.com/*)

It looks like there's 33 files still available.

Grab these files while you can, before someone buys the okeverybody.com (http://okeverybody.com) domain and puts a robots.txt on it which could have the side-effect of blocking access (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Permalink/720253939#Legal_status) to the files in the Wayback Machine archive.
