As a matter of interest how many years did Brian stay this trim ?
7  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: The high-quality color photos of Mike's childhood on: April 06, 2019, 05:34:59 PM
This board is the nearest I'll get to social media but the photos of Mike seem interesting from a historical point of view. Any family photos are really. The Love family was more affluent at the time than the Wilsons. So they were lucky enough to indulge taking photos.
8  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Thrasher Magazine Reviews The Beach Boys' July 13, 1982 Concert on: April 06, 2019, 05:28:00 PM
That is the time frame of my early fandom days and yes it wasn't cool to be into the Beach Boys during the punk period. Even the people in the record shops thought that I was wasting my money.
9  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Original Ghost Producer on: April 06, 2019, 05:24:33 PM
Wow this thread fizzled.

My realisation was after learning about the producers of the stuff people buy and listen to recently. As well as the fact nobody really knows who they are. Initially Brian was like that, apart from being a touring band member.
10  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Are the repeats songs on the early albums sonically idenical on: April 06, 2019, 05:16:40 PM
I think the same song masters would have been used as the two albums that you mentioned were released only a month or so apart.
11  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: The Voice of Al Jardine on: April 06, 2019, 05:11:14 PM
So I guess that a wall of Al Jardines would equal the Boys vocal blend ?
12  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Last Beach Boys song you heard on the radio on: April 06, 2019, 05:00:11 PM
There is a soft rock station playing on the radio at work. Every so often Kokomo gets a turn. Thats'about it. As you said who listens to the radio now I used to at home but now music is easier to access on your phone.

Its' great that you posted the pictures really big, I generally like to zoom up so thanks for saving me the effort  Lips Sealed
14  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Beach Boys - early radio broadcasts on: December 31, 2018, 11:51:37 PM
Back in 1978 when the Beach Boys toured Australia and New Zealand the Christchurch show was filmed and broadcast on TVNZ I remember watching it. Probably languishing some where on a dusty shelf

The Brian vocal reminds me a little of Male Ego but less gruff and more relaxed
16  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Original Ghost Producer on: December 29, 2018, 08:03:55 PM
Haven't posted in quite awhile.
Back in the day I guess BW was what is known as a ghost producer sort of like Pharrel was and Max Martin is now.

24  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Brian Wilson lookalike = actor Edmund Cobb (super eerie) on: April 07, 2015, 03:59:32 AM
Funny stuff  Cheesy but Brian has been too much of a shape shifter to have been that Cobb guy.
25  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Love and Mercy - News and Reviews - First clip is out. on: April 07, 2015, 03:50:41 AM
I will be definitely going to this... 20 years ago at the Wellington Film Festival I saw the movie that Don Was made, it is quite an experience seeing on the big screen.
