Says there that "In one week of 1960, his recordings accounted for 15 of Billboard Magazine's "Top 100," a feat no one has ever matched." Could be I'm wrong, and I've not done even the most basic research... but maybe Chuck Britz could come very close, and maybe match that ?
I'm not that familiar with Britz's outside the Beach Boys. But that declaration about Porter is a fact. He worked for many, many big stars during the same peirod. The living stereo recordings he made in the early sixties are the best sounding recordings I have ever heard, most notable for example the "Elvis is back"-album. Even the great Sunflower/Surf's Up-albums don't sound as fresh and lively. A genius he was....
