Underrated, IMHO. They sang sugary sweet, of course... but there was an underlying sense of irony, of 'knowing', sort of tongue in cheek. Finest three minutes: 'High Coin', composed by Van Dyke Parks. Stunning piece of West Coast Harmony Pop. Covered to great effect by the WCPAEB.

Stunning arrangements (Nick deCaro, Bob Thompson)
Just compare their two versions of "Cotton candy sandman" - great!!

They are too happy for my taste. After side 1 I just want to yell at them to lay off the green stuff

Sure they did! Thanks for reminding me. Great little sax part in that one... wonder who played it?

Interesting group...not as mainstream as the Beach Boys or the Association but there's definitely some magic. Some good sunshine pop sounds.
