So we BB fans know how the band became a traveling jukebox, when it was is another question, whether it was 1976 or 1980 or 1991. To debate that is another topic for another time...but my challenge is to pick a year or a tour (preferably after Holland, but it's up to you)  and make the setlist more than just the oldies, maybe to promote the previous or upcoming album...so yes, you could use tracks that weren't ever play live (thus being a fantasy). anyways, just thought about the idea at work, haven't had time myself to think of one, but I'll post one soon.

I'd go for a show with a lot of the tunes from the 'In Concert' period but must include 'Feel Flows'. That would be the first half of the show and the second would be a complete 'Pet Sounds' deal as done by Brian a few years back. The proviso being the whole gig is to be the standard we have seen at both Brian and Mike/ Bruce shows the last 10 years. Top bands, clean, sober, slick and well rehearsed.

edit.

And as for a year? Any time when 6 Beach Boys could have taken the stage so I guess 79- 81ish.

My first will be early 1976 (my timeline isn't up to sequence), but the setlist I'm gonna do goes along the lines of promoting 15 Big Ones, before it came out, before the official album sequence was constructed.  If I screw up on a couple of songs for when they were written, I apologize in advance.

1. Do it Again
2. Oldies Medley (15 Big Ones)(each member gets a vocal)
-Rock and Roll Music (Mike)
-Come and Go With Me (Al)
-Sea Cruise (Dennis)
-Palisades Park (Carl)
3. Sail on Sailor (Billy H)
4. Long Promised Road
5. Susie Cincinnati
6. Good Timin'
7. That Same Old Song
8. California'
9. Everyone's in Love With You
10. Pacific Ocean Blues
11. Darlin'
12. Back Home
13. It's OK
14. River Song
15. Breakaway
16. California Girls
17. Marcella
18. Sloop John B
19. Wouldn't it Be Nice
20. Surfer Girl
21. Good Vibrations

Now is that a traveling jukebox still?

Jon. I was also going to mention my invite to the after show party. Wine, woman and song etc, then the invitation to stay for the whole tour!

Did I mention woman? Wink

This setlist goes along the same lines of my other one from 1976; this time it's a setlist from 1970, promoting Sunflower. Again, I apologize if the writing/performing of these songs don't link up in time line.

1. Breakaway
2. Slip on Through
3. Wake the World
4. God Only Knows
5. Darlin'
6. Tears in the Morning
7. Do it Again
8. You're So Good to Me
9. Cool Cool Water
10. Heroes and Villains
11. Surfer Girl
12. Wild Honey
13. Friends
14. Take a Load off Your Feet
15. Wouldn't it be Nice
16. Sloop John B
17. Then I Kissed Her
18. Forever
19. Good Vibrations
20. It's About Time

Just pure fantasy - seeing as it would require Carl and Dennis  Grin

My fantasy setlist for Brian's tour of BWRG would follow along the lines of two setlist and an encore. First setlist some hits/rarities (I can only hope) and the second being the album itself performed.

1. Soulful Old Man Sunshine
2. You're So Good To Me
3. Good Timin'
4. Funky Pretty
5. Your Summer Dream
6. Salt Lake City
7. There's No Other (like My Baby)
8. Diamond Head
9. Mona
10. Melt Away
11. Heroes and Villains
12. South America
13. Orange Crate Art
14. We'll Run Away
15. Breakaway
16. Marcella

Performance of BWRG

Encore:
1. Help Me Ronda
2. Johnny B. Good
3. Do it Again
4. Good Vibrations
5. Southern California
