Should Wendy and Carnie rejoin Al's Beach Family and Friends?

With all this talk of a BB reunion, how would y'all like to see Wendy and Carnie back in Al Jardine's Beach Family and Friends? Not really sure what they were doing there in the first place, but as Al says on the live CD, "I'm just happy to see some Wilsons on stage!" I like the thought of Wilsons in Al's band. And Wilson Phillips is not really going anywhere.

I think that band had the best overall sound (I'm including lead vocals there) of any of the bands. However, without the BBs name they wouldn't sell any tickets so no chance of it happening.

Well, Al can and does promote his current shows (like the one I saw Labor Day weekend) as "Original founding member of The Beach Boys Al Jardine and the Endless Summer Band", and he manages to sell tickets. If he tacked on "Featuring Carnie and Wendy Wilson", he would probably sell even more.

Yes! Having female voices replace the "falsetto" parts make the songs sound unique and different but still very much in the Beach Boys mold.

I think Al should bring back Daryl Dragon. And Bobby Figueroa. And as before, Carnie & Wendy would of course be great additions again if they can get babysitters.

Al will be playing a gig with his current band at a library in Big Sur the night of October 8. He'll be playing material from his new album release. I hope he doesn't distract those who are trying to read in a quiet environment.....

Yeah, I thought so too. It's not far from Al's house & The Red Barn; right on Highway 1. It's on a Friday night at 7:30, so for those who have to work that day, it's not really convenient to make it over there. I think that's the intent - to keep it in an intimate setting with a relatively small audience.

He may have been on tour with Ricci Martin at the time. Was Dennis Diken in for him instead? The library up in Big Sur sems to host concerts often according to their website. Looks like Arcade Fire just played there. The seating is capacity 300.
