I will likely go see it, without great expectations. Unless the previews come out and it dictates that I needn't waste my time.

In a way, I hope this succeeds and is done well.
It seems Stamos has his heart in the right place with this and as god awful as "Across the Universe" was  it brought a lot of attention to the mythology/songcraft of the Beatles to the uninformed (if that's possible....)

HOPEFULLY, this will do similar things but with less crappiness....

I'd rather have Stamos doing a similar Wishbone Ash Musical in its place.

“It’s completely non-biographical,” he says. “You might have a girl singing ‘I Get Around.’ There won’t be a guy who’s a supporter, like a Brian character."

Can somebody explain what Stamos means by this?  What does he mean by Brian being a supporting character?

And then there's this gem:

"Trust me."

I want someone to make "Waiting for a Bus - The Al Jardine Story". Al could sit 'Forrest Gump' like at a bus stop, recanting his Beach Boy days to various bemused passer-bys.

I was puzzled by that quote as well. I'm thinking that Stamos is addressing how the songs will be performed in general, meaning that if the actress sings "I Get Around", there won't be another singer backing her up like Brian "supported" Mike with the chorus lead on that particular song.

I'd rather have Stamos doing a similar Wishbone Ash Musical in its place.

The great idea about that sort of project are the never-ending song lengths involved. And they could really focus on just 2 albums: "Argus" and "Wishbone Four". Anything past that might be too esoteric.

Here are some very interesting links to consider:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Very_Best_of_Wishbone_Ash:_Blowin%27_Free
http://www.amazon.com/Best-Wishbone-Ash/dp/B000002P6C/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1287191056&sr=8-15

Most of the songs on these compilations are from those 2 albums. Most of their later albums (besides usually getting a 1/2 star from AllMusic.com) are currently unavailable on cd for some reason unbeknown to me. Another interesting Wikipedia entry about the subject:

...then again, maybe not. Still 547 Wishbone Ash fans couldn't be wrong!

I think a project like this is exactly the kind of thing the Beach Boys need right now. So long as it's done with tact and dignity, there's really no downside to the kind of relevance/reverence it could give them the same way Across The Universe did with The Beatles.

Second from the left in that picture - is that a man or a woman with really small boobs?

One might have to consult a Wishbone Ash historian to set that one straight. None of them seem to have any chest hair anyway.....hmmm.....

I love how this thread has totally gone off the track. But back to the subject, I really don't think this movie sounds like it will be anything worth looking forward to.
