Somewhere up in the great beyond, Dennis is having a drink with Loki and laughing about that picture, saying "and that was just 1967!"

I think they were still getting along just grand at that time.

Mike Love should record a cover album of Love You and call it Mike Love You.

Let's put our Hearts Together could be a duet with Stamos!

Mike looks so funny here - his moustache makes him look like some 1700s French soldier, totally lost in a time warp, having landed in '60s California, and suddenly realizing that now he's a front man in a rock group. And here's that handsome Wilson brother, proposing a highly personal duet of a special kind...

I'd say he looks more like a grizzled 1890's prospector. "Argh, there's gold in thar hills!"

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Nah, Mike's beard in '69 was wild and out of control by that point. I'd have to give it a range from '66-'68.

July 1968.

From the blog this picture was posted in:
Doug Braun recently sent this pic and and few words: “I took this photo of Mike Love & Dennis Wilson while working with their tour back in the summer of 1968.  We did 14 U.S. cities with Gary Puckett and the Union Gap and the Human Beinz from Youngstown, Ohio."

Did you give the info to Ian for any tour dates that he might not have?

Yer right, it would appear to be so; much  credit to IAN.
looking at the tour, I wonder tho, if perhaps there was a July 1 show somewhere in the northern-midwest, as the first of the "14 cities", to replace Albuquerque,NM, which seems a stretch( distance-wise) from the rest of the locations

That's the Dennis & Mike that I first came to know, and, I might add, indulged with, in the empty first row of the Ed Sullivan theatre, (although it wasn't called that yet), after they finished the show, in October of '68.  Mike had grown his beard in by then, and that was the one & only time I experienced that sort of camaraderie between them...  By the time I saw Dennis again, when they next came east, I could tell things had changed between them.  When I first ventured west a few months after that, to stay at Dennis' house, I became much more aware of why things had changed.  And before you ask why, please don't.  That's for another time...

Can you tell the story where Mike & Dennis streaked on the stage?
