Any hope of this getting a dvd release soon? I was able to watch the link that was put on here. But I would love to own it. My only request is that on the bonus materials, include the video footage in the studio of Dennis recording the fade to All I Want to Do.  Evil

There has been some discussion about expanding the show and releasing it on dvd.  Matt O'Casey, the shows director, hasn't really stopped working on other shows since this one was completed, but he would love to do additional work on Dennis.  However, nothing definite has been presented to me...  Jon???

I'd love to see this released too -  perhaps bundled with the POB/B set as a deluxe deluxe edition!

As Ed said there had been some preliminary discussion about the "concept" of expanding the documentary for a home DVD release and perhaps a U.S. TV airing. But no business has been conducted, in fact no plan to conduct business has been made, and no plan to make a plan has been planned. For anything to happen there are MAJOR hurdles that haven't even begun to be cleared...rights issues basically make it as if the project is starting at square one again. Honestly I don't know if its viable from a budget standpoint, these things have been loosely evaluated from the director's perspective, very general conversations have occurred. One reality is there may be things that would have to be cut from the orig. due to inability to clear them for a home or U.S. release at a reasonable rate. On the other hand there would definitely be things (music, footage, stills) added to any new version to make it a unique product from the version that aired in the UK...a 90 minute version would be desirable...that said, the arc of the story would basically remain the same. There were initially several parties or companies "interested" in being involved in the business of making a new version happen, the momentum was pretty electric in the weeks after the show aired in the UK, back then i might have said it stood a good chance of happening, but the reality of how much it would cost to pull off has pretty much doused the blaze into a slow smolder. As far as I know its still smoldering and all it takes is a little breeze for it to catch fire again...so we'll see. Bottom line, we're pretty much in the same place regarding this that we were three months ago, but I'm hopeful because I know its a very powerful film as is, and it will only get better if expanded.

Many thanks for that Jon,

If there's no release planned to be planned for the immediate future, do you think there's any chance the BBC might show the show again?

The reality of financial limitations have been the ruin of many good things. Sad  Especially art and music related. I hope you all will be able to make this happen and I will definately do my part in buying one or two or three. Smiley
