Scroll down to the post titled "Fun", and read on (upwards, to the most recent post).

I found this entirely fascinating, for any number of reasons.

Agree.

A rare first hand objective account by a non-fan of the emotional power  of BW's music and story, but also eye witness account that BW's his own man still... and that Jeff's not kidding when he points out that Brian's keyboard is turned on!

Fascinating. I'm always curious about these corporate gigs -- Brian was in Russia a year or two ago for a private show too, I recall. No one in the organization ever talks about them -- and they play a real corporate setlist, too.

The band lineup was weird as well. Darian (?!) was there, but no Scott, Taylor or Paul. Wonder what it sounded like.

Ahhh, nice pics, but how come no pic of brian laying down( his burden?)

Interesting, the "corporate setlist". I just sent Eric a similar, tho longer, setlist from a June 17th(2010) private show.
If all that's going to be played is BBs songs, why not just hire Mike's band? ( maybe he's not available, maybe they cost too much?)
Do you think it's a requirement, for the corporate gigs, that they only play "known" BBs songs? or do Brian/band choose not to play any of Brian's newer songs?

I wonder if -- to some -- Brian may be a bigger name / have the better rep these days. Seriously. "The legendary Brian Wilson" versus "The Beach Boys" that have a lot of clearly too-young guys.

For corporate gigs, I bet that they offer "classic BB songs" as the setlist, though. I notice they still managed to fit "Add Some Music" on there. Ad for Brian falling -- I read as suggesting he just tripped. Maybe a fainting spell, who knows?

And the guy makes a big deal about the uncertainty of BW showing up or not, and the need to possibly cancel the show at the last minute. I can understand promoters warning about this, but it's never actually happened, has it?

The June 17th show also had Sail On Sailor; is that now considered classic? or artists' choice, maybe.

Here's a doozy...I guess the name of  "Brian Wilson" actually now carries LESS baggage than the "Beach Boys". Who'd have EVER thought this 20 years ago? LOL
