Does anyone know anything about this track, anything at all?

Its one of my favourite unreleased tracks, and its such a shame that BW couldn't make it work. The Wrecking Crew - especially whoever was on bass and guitar - should be ashamed of themselves for messing it up so badly as there are great clumsy mistakes on every take.

Its a real shame as it has some lovely changes and was recorded during a very fertile period for BW. Even though it has a pretty standard arrangement (though who knows what he might have decided to augment it with on later tracks) its still pretty different from pretty much everything of the time.

April 1964.

Actually, I'm listening to it again and I think it was actually the Boys themselves, as various names are bandied about (Carl, Dennis, presumably Al is there playing the bass with his feet). Its a shame he didn't try it again when they were all a bit more rehearsed.

I'd love to know what melody Brian had in his head for this.

April 29th, allegedly, but that's open to question.

Hmm, that's not much is it? We have the date and that's it? Maybe that's all there is to know about it.

The date is open to question - there is an AFM sheet for 4/29/64... but the only titles it lists are "Don't Back Down" & "We'll Run Away".

Musicians listed are the band (all five) plus Ray Pohlman & Hal Blaine.
