Any one else swear allegiance to one of the best pop groups of the 70s and 80s?  I wish I saved my review thread, it was pure worship.  "Last Caress," "Children in Heat," "She," "Skulls," "Hybrid Moments"...all sublime tributes to Brian Wilson, Paul McCartney, and Phil Spector.

Also -- cannot forget one of the great rock anthems, "Teenagers From Mars."  That is what rock and roll is about.

I used to have a couple Misfits cd's in the early 90's. Which is the tribute to Brian Wilson?

All of 'em.  Not Earth A.D., but Static Age, Walk Among Us, and the singles and EPs around those are all modernized Wilson, Spector, and early Beatles.  It's so easy to slow those songs down in your head and imagine the Wrecking Crew playing them.

The Misfits are one of the only punk bands I like, probably because of the influences.

Too bad they didn't do more covers..

I haven't done enough listening to the Misfits as I would like to, but I did like the first album. Dunno if that was the best starting point.

Walk Among Us or Static Age?  I think Static Age is their best album, but Walk Among Us is pretty good too.  Just has a few weak tunes.

I cranked it when I listened the first time! I was told "this is a band you must play LOUD".

The Danzig-led Misfits recorded/released one cover -- Ratfink by Alan Sherman.
