The gig is at a newly-opened casino/resort thing. Some might think that special.

I don't see a suite of Wilsonized Gershwin songs going down too well, somehow...  Grin

It's sure to be a HOT show.  Evil
Scottsdale in late May is nearly guaranteed >100 F or 40 C outdoors and refrigerated to the point of needing a sweater indoors.

New song titles for AZ:

All Summer REALLY Long
Surf's Evaporated
Love and A/C
Illegals and Villains (with Sherrif Joe Arpaio doing a cameo on the "You're Under ARREST" line)
You Need a Mess of Help to Stand the Heat

Not in the line-up
Ten Little Indians

I simply Don't understand the consept behind "one-off" gigs...It's silly. Unless there's some grand Master plan about testing the waters for new works-but I doubt it. LEave the hits stuff to Endless Bummer of Love Karaoke review-and those who "get" something out of it.

I understand the "concept" perfectly fine -- they're paying him, and it's not too far from home.

Just got my ticket to this show.  Pretttyyyy excited -- I've seen him 3 times in CA but this one's only a couple hours drive!  Anybody else going?  Hopefully there's smoking allowed in the casino area.  A cig at the penny slots after the show would make my night.   Smokin:

What would be magic is if Brian performs "Ten Little Indians" as the encore complete with him dancing round the stage going "WHOO WHOO WHOO WHOO WHOO WHOO WHOO WHOO WHOO WHOO!!!!"  Bound to go down a storm.

I may go...only 100 miles from home....heck I SHOULD go.

I think the reservation businesses are able to bypass the AZ anti-smoking laws though I haven't been in an Indian casino since the laws strengthened a few years back, so can't say for sure.

You're not kidding. Just the other day I drove on the Jefferson Davis Hwy on the way to Tombstone! How that name survives, I don't know. Got questioned by the Border Patrol today who noticed we were car-pooling. "no officer, we're not smuggling, we're diggin' the Beach Boys here"
