Just checked out the following video online from Musicares for Neil Young.  It is a very brief interview with Brian, where he says that the Gershwin album should be done in about a month.  It looks like he leaves the interview to go and talk with Al.

Enjoy,

Matt

Wow, this is a good find.  The interviewer seems to have no idea that Brian has been releasing solo albums for the past 22 years, but I can't express how happy I am that he is hanging out with Al!

Another classic Brian interview. Immediately jumps into plugging his new album without any pretext and you have to love his reaction to the question of whether he has any Neil Young stories. He seems pretty happy and I'm definitely looking forward to Wilson Sings Gershwin. I really don't know what to expect but I have a feeling it'll be a lot better than What I Really Want for Christmas (not that the Christmas album was too shabby).

Agree that it's a classic (ie terrible) interview but through no fault of Brian's. Nice that Al and Brian are on good terms.

Oh blimey -  TWENTY TWO YEARS! You're right. That's phenomenal.  Still seems a very recent thing.

Loved the interview. Poor lass. Poor Brian. Poor network.

I haven't got any Neil Young stories either –  interview me!

Yeah, that's very cool. I agree !

In the youtube-thread a video was posted of Al being interviewed, but unfortunately you can't hear him

Brian was on top form! Very assertive. That's the Brian Wilson I like to see.

He looks surprisingly cool! At ease, no contorted facial expression, not sighing almost audibly (I'd rather be somewhere else). Only his wiggling on his feet might indicate that he'd like to leave, but I take it as relaxation. And yup, great to see him besides Al!

Who'd a thunk this in 1980 (30 years ago)? Not me.

The fact that Brian said he releases albums because he loves making music makes me very happy. Much better than the wifeandmanagers line.

That's surreal! Why were they so interested in him? Was it because he was the favorite to win the prestigious Most Postponed EP and Album Award?

Maybe it's because he's an original member of the biggest american band ever !

BTW his voice on that very short "Barbara Ann"-part sounds beautiful

So glad to see that!! Gotta love Brian, lol. The interviewer sure was an air head though Roll Eyes
I suffered through all three and a half hours of that garbage just to see California Girls mentioned & Loretta Lynn get her Lifetime Achievement Award only to witness a 2 second mention of Loretta, no BBs, Beyonce grab her crotch, that abomination Taylor Swift somehow continue to be acknowledged for musical talent Huh, and a bunch of other people trying to hide the fact they can't sing with ridiculous stunts that have nothing to do with music Angry. I feel bad for anyone who watched it, and I'm kinda glad the REAL artists weren't mentioned in the middle of all that.

Beyonce was bland beyond belief. Sort of a pimped up Mariah or Whitney or Bonnie Tyler. That she took 8 awards is a sign of our poor, poor times.

Well, yes, but it's not like he's a headline making, household name, talk-of-the-town superstar. I'm of course glad, and surprised, that he got that much attention. Go Al!
